THREE WISHES FOR JAMIE
McGinn/Cazale Theatre October 26-Nov 7

It is 1896 in the very poorest part of Ireland and Jamie McRuin (Michael Mahany) avoids a marriage arranged by Owen Roe Tavish (Gavriel Savit) in the only way an honorable man can - he commits suicide. BUT he is saved from drowning by a Fairy Queen who promises him three wishes - the first one is travel and he joins distant cousin O'Malley (Chad Ackerman) in Atlanta. There he meets his second wish - Maeve (Rita Harvey) - the girl he truly loves. BUT her father, Shiel Harrigan (Steve Brady), has already promised her to Randal (Jody Cook) who in his anger reveals the Harrigan family secret, also known by Aunt Bid (Anne Bobby) - Maeve is probably barren. BUT Jamie's third wish is to have a son. Jamie's "widow-to-be", Tirsa (Jessica Wagner), arrives from Ireland with her father, Tim (Martin Hurt) and Tavish finally arranges a successful marriage between her and Dennis (Douglas B. Giorgis) and they are blessed with a child. The local minister, Father Kerrigan (Richard Rodgers), is so disturbed by the visible strains to Jamie's marriage caused by childlessness that he suggests they adopt Kevin (Ted Sutherland), the 10-year-old that Jess (Roger Rifkin) has abandoned . BUT, and BUT, and BUT and it all works out with no small help from John Grieco, Maria Maloney, Matthew Roscoe and Carly Zien. Director - Thomas Sabella-Mills. Music Director - James Stenborg.

Three Wishes for Jamie (1952) starred John Raitt; Anne Jeffries; Charlotte Rae and was written by Charles O'Neal - Ryan's father. Songs: The Girl That I Court in My Mind; Love Has Nothing to Do With Looks
