New York City Ballet's Sara Mearns to Perform with PTAMD at Lincoln Center

Paul Taylor has invited New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Sara Mearns to perform works by Isadora Duncan reconstructed by The Isadora Duncan Dance Company Artistic Director, Lori Bellilove during the 2018 Season of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance (PTAMD) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.

BAM and LUMBERYARD Team for Next Wave Residencies

River To River Festival 2017 Kicks Off June 14-25 Across Lower Manhattan

Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) presents the 16th annual River To River Festival, Downtown New York City's completely free summer arts festival, June 14-25. The 2017 edition presents an array of performances and events exploring and celebrating diversity in all its forms-often blurring the lines between genres including dance, music, theater and the visual arts-over the course of 100+ performances and events spanning 17 projects at 31 unique sites across Lower Manhattan and Governors Island. The Festival also offers opportunities for audiences to interact with artists, socialize and experience multiple facets of artists' work and the creative process.

2017 LA MAMA MOVES! Dance Festival to Feature World Premieres and More This Spring

The welcome mat for artists from the four corners of the globe has shone brightly at La MaMa's theater entryway for 55 years, and for the past 12, the welcome has been extended to choreographers and dancers participating in the La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival, which this season includes 17 dance companies and artists whose work asks important questions about the conditions of the world in which we are now living. The 2017 festival runs May 18-June 4.

Vicky Shick's LET IT LINGER Comes to LUMBERYARD in the City Festival at The Kitchen

LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts (formerly American Dance Institute) is pleased to present Let It Linger, a new work from the renowned choreographer Vicky Shick, June 8-10 as part of the second annual LUMBERYARD in the City festival at The Kitchen. Let it Linger is a movement piece in several segments, each one with a slightly different combination of inhabitants. In the work, moments of discomfort-perhaps even the unpleasant-are interspersed with attempts at intimacy and with robust and luscious physicality.

Mad. Sq. Art Announces Partnership With Artist Josiah McElheny's Prismatic Park

Prominent, innovative choreographers, dancers, musicians and poets including musicians Limpe Fuchs and Lea Bertucci, choreographers Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Riener, and poets Joshua Bennett and Monica de la Torre will be in residence as an integral part of Josiah McElheny's outdoor public art project, Prismatic Park, in Madison Square Park from June 13, 2017 through October 8, 2017.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim announces The World Premiere of WORKING IN PROCESS/ NEW BODIES

On Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 3pm and 7:30pm and Monday, November 14, 2016 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents Working in Process/ New Bodies, the culmination and World Premiere of choreographer Jodi Melnick's Works & Process residency with dancers Sara Mearns, Jared Angle, and Gretchen Smith at the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater. Melnick's work weaves dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with Claudia La Rocco, with live music for harpsichord by composer Gyorgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and newly commissioned music by Robert Boston.

Jacob's Pillow Announces Largest Creative Development Residency Program to Date

Strengthening its role as a center for artist research and development, Jacob's Pillow Dance announces an active, year-round season with its expanded 2016-2017 Creative Development Residency program. This season brings new additions to the program including two technical residencies, cross-genre collaborations, and invited audiences of college students, as well as a diverse roster of 10 artist residencies, the Pillow's largest residency season yet.

Jacob's Pillow Announces New Year-Round Dance Studio

On Saturday, August 27, Jacob's Pillow Dance announced plans to build a new dance studio on the historic Jacob's Pillow campus. The announcement was made by Director Pamela Tatge at the Pillow's 2016 Festival Finale, with the official ground-breaking ceremony to take place at the Pillow on Friday, October 14 at 5pm.
