A beloved Vancouver tradition since 1940, Theatre Under the Stars promises a blonde-tastic, ogre-ific season filled with surprise, delight, and non-stop fun for the entire family.
The Richmond Symphony has announced a new summer concert series starting in July, 2014 entitled Summer at CenterStage. In its inaugural season, the eight one-hour long recital style concerts will feature the complete sonatas of Johannes Brahms as well as other works for piano and solo instrument. Summer at CenterStage is perfect for those new to the classical music experience, as well as for the most die-hard listeners and offers fantastic music in a relaxed environment.

Singers and swimmers strike out towards the water's edge looking out intently, searching the horizon. Is somebody lost at sea? Stories of endeavour are interwoven with haunting music, lifeguard drills, calls for help and struggles for breath.

Canadian Stage's Shakespeare in High Park returns this summer with a Shakespearean double bill at the High Park Amphitheatre (1873 Bloor St. W.), pairing the pastoral comedy, As You Like It, with the bard's first tragedy, Titus Andronicus. Outdoors and under the stars, the plays run on alternate nights from June 26 to Aug. 31, Tuesday to Sunday at 8 p.m. Each performance is pay-what-you can, with a suggested contribution of $20. The productions are presented by Canadian Stage in collaboration with the Department of Theatre, York University.
To some, Romeo & Juliet is a story of two teenagers blinded by lust and driven to unspeakable acts, yet at its heart, it is a love story that transcends age and time. In Half Shadow Players' production of STAR CROSS'D, directors Lizzy Ferdinandi and Jessica Gaupel (who also co-founded the company) combine haunting contemporary music with Shakespeare's text to create a 50-minute movement-oriented retelling of the classic love story.
