Word for Word's 20th Anniversary production of "In Friendship:Stories by Zona Gale" has been extended through September 13 (originally scheduled to close September 8) due to the overwhelming audience demand for this evening of Zona Gale stories. Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. Clybourne Park begins with a Pay-What-You-Can performance on Friday, October 4 and runs through Sunday, October 27 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Captiva Arts is proud to present UNBIDDEN, written (on a Fulbright grant to Iceland) and directed by Joanne Hudson, presented as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival FringeNYC. In this experimental production, with the help of the Vofa (Icelandic rock spirits) the cast and crew of UNBIDDEN will deconstruct the brain of brilliant geneticist, Dr. Julia Lamb, as she unwinds the threads of ambition, betrayal and love that have led her to self-exile on a remote Icelandic island, while suffering from the, early onset Alzheimer's, disease she had sought to cure.

The Casting Society of America (CSA) announced today the nominees for the organization's 29th Annual Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Casting, given in 22 categories including film, television and theater. The CSA will fete their own on Monday, November 18, 2013 with award ceremonies to be held simultaneously at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles (reception will commence at 6:00 p.m. PDT) and at XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge (512 West 42nd Street) in New York (reception will commence at 6:00 p.m. EDT). Honorees for this year's Career Achievement Award, Hoyt Bowers Award and The New York Apple will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
