MISS SAIGON at Fisher Theatre to Open Broadway In Detroit's 2013-14 Seaosn, 9/24-10/6

Miss Saigon, one of the most stunning theatrical spectacles of all time, will kick off Broadway In Detroit's 2013-2014 theatre season at the Fisher Theatre, September 24 - October 6. In Miss Saigon, Puccini's Madame Butterfly is brought to the modern world. Joanne Tatham Set for String of Shows at Cafe Carlyle, 10/3-11

The renowned Cafe Carlyle at the Carlyle Hotel presents the L.A.-based jazz seductress Joanne Tatham for an exclusive four-show engagement from October 3 to 11. "Soundtrack New York," Tatham's fast-paced guided tour of songs from films shot on the streets of New York, performs "Soundtrack New York" on two consecutive Thursdays & Fridays, October 3 & 4, and 10 & 11, all at 10:45pm.

Patti LuPone to Launch Concert Tour from Minneapolis in September

According to her official website, Patti LuPone, who will soon star in the upcoming season of FX's American Horror Story, will make a series of concert appearances from September through April 2014. Check out the full itinerary below:

Word for Word Extends IN FRIENDSHIP Through 9/13

Word for Word's 20th Anniversary production of "In Friendship:Stories by Zona Gale" has been extended through September 13 (originally scheduled to close September 8) due to the overwhelming audience demand for this evening of Zona Gale stories. Additional performances of "In Friendship" are on: Wednesday, 9/11, at 3 and 7pm; Thursday, 9/12, 7pm; and Friday, 9/13, 8pm in Z Space's new second venue, Z Below, at 470 Florida Street.

Dallas Theater Center to Stage CLYBOURNE PARK in Rep with A RAISIN IN THE SUN, 10/4-27

Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. Clybourne Park begins with a Pay-What-You-Can performance on Friday, October 4 and runs through Sunday, October 27 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Megan Mullally is a two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will & Grace, and recent star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein. On August 28 & 29 she returns to Provincetown by popular demand - for two shows only - after her sold-out Art House debut last summer. Patti LuPone won her second Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, as well Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, for her performance as Rose in the most recent Broadway production of Gypsy, and created the title role in Evita on Broadway with her now legendary performance, for which she won her first Tony and Drama Desk Awards. On August 31 and September 1 she makes a triumphant Provincetown return for 4 shows only, after debuting at The Art House last summer. Chita Rivera is a living Broadway legend and a two-time Tony winner as Aurora in Kiss of the Spider Woman and Anna in The Rink. She originated the Broadway roles of Anita in West Side Story, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, Velma in Chicago, and appeared in the original casts of Guys and Dolls, Can Can, Seventh Heaven, Mr. Wonderful, Jerry's Girls, and many others. Captiva Arts Opens UNBIDDEN Tonight as Part of FringeNYC

Captiva Arts is proud to present UNBIDDEN, written (on a Fulbright grant to Iceland) and directed by Joanne Hudson, presented as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival FringeNYC. In this experimental production, with the help of the Vofa (Icelandic rock spirits) the cast and crew of UNBIDDEN will deconstruct the brain of brilliant geneticist, Dr. Julia Lamb, as she unwinds the threads of ambition, betrayal and love that have led her to self-exile on a remote Icelandic island, while suffering from the, early onset Alzheimer's, disease she had sought to cure.

Jordan Lee Davies and More Join Parallel Productions' Gala Launch at Batttersea Barge, Sept 4

Parallel Productions present their official Gala Launch. A fusion of cabaret and concert, musical theatre and acoustic arrangements, the night will host a cast of established musical theatre performers, alongside some new talent, singing stripped back acoustic versions of musical theatre songs. The Launch will be held at the Battersea Barge, at 8pm on Wednesday 4th September.

PIPPIN, MOTOWN, KINKY BOOTS & More Nominated for 2013 Artios Awards!

The Casting Society of America (CSA) announced today the nominees for the organization's 29th Annual Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Casting, given in 22 categories including film, television and theater. The CSA will fete their own on Monday, November 18, 2013 with award ceremonies to be held simultaneously at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles (reception will commence at 6:00 p.m. PDT) and at XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge (512 West 42nd Street) in New York (reception will commence at 6:00 p.m. EDT). Honorees for this year's Career Achievement Award, Hoyt Bowers Award and The New York Apple will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
