Back on UK stages for the first time since 2011, this brand new touring production marks the 10th anniversary of the show's world premiere in 2008, with Strictly Come Dancing winner Joanne Clifton and A1 singer Ben Adams leading an outstanding cast.

Selladoor Wins Big at Daegu International Musical Festival

After a week of sell-out shows at the Daegu Opera House, 4 - 7 July, Selladoor Worldwide and the cast and creatives of Flashdance the Musical scooped the 3 biggest awards at the Daegu International Musical Festival Awards. Joanne Clifton Strictly Come Dancing Champion playing leading lady Alex Owens won Best Actress; last year Selladoor's production of Spamalot also won Best Actress, Sarah Harlington as Lady of the Lake. Playing opposite Joanne in the role of Nick Hurley, Ben Adams of a1 won Best Actor and Selladoor Worldwide proudly took home the award for Best Musical.

Flashdance: The Musical stars former Strictly Come Dancing pro Joanne Clifton and A1 heart-throb Ben Adams. It tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of Clifton's character, a welder by day and 'flashdancer' by night, who dreams of going to the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy and becoming a professional dancer. When a romance (with Ben Adams' Nick) complicates her ambitions, she harnesses it to drive her dream.

BWW Review: THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, Churchill Theatre, Bromley

This take on the Hollywood classic Thoroughly Modern Millie last played Broadway back in 2002. However, regardless of the casts plucky efforts to inject some New York panache to proceedings, 'Millie' emerges as a particularly poor choice for revisiting in 2017. The story features threads that sit uncomfortably in the present day. Mrs Meers with her chopstick clad hair and mock Chinese accent is amusing for ten minutes but after a couple of scenes just seems plain racist. Millie's chunk of the plot hangs on the idea that she needs to find a rich man to marry to get on in life. Where do I even start with that one?
