A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin is playing at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W. 45th Street), with an opening night set for tonight, October 10th.

Casting has been announced for the world premiere of 'The Black Suits,' which begins previews October 27 at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Opening night is November 3 and performances run through November 24, 2013. The cast features Jimmy Brewer, Harrison Chad, Veronica Dunne, Coby Getzug, Annie Golden and Will Roland. At the end of the first act of The Book of Mormon, now playing Austin's Bass Concert Hall for a two week run, I thought to myself, 'This is the most distasteful, crude, offensive, and subversive musical I've ever seen, and I'm loving every minute of it.' The Marsh presents new opening dates for the World Premiere of THE SCION, a tale of privilege, murder, and sausage performed by award-winning performer Brian Copeland (Not a Genuine Black Man, The Waiting Period). Written by Brian Copeland, developed by Brian Copeland and David Ford, and directed by David Ford, THE SCION will be performed in workshop today, October 4 - 26, 2013 and will receive its World Premiere January 9 - March 1, 2014 (press opening February 1) at The Marsh San Francisco, 1062 Valencia Street.

On Wednesday, October 30th, the blockbuster musical, WICKED, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on Broadway, a milestone achieved by only ten other Broadway productions in history. The creative team and many of the musical's previous cast members will celebrate WICKED's first decade with a special performance, followed by a company party, on October 30th at 7:00pm. In addition, special promotions and appearances will be scheduled throughout the month of October, in celebration of the show's enduring worldwide popularity.

The captivating new production of Terence Rattigan's classic THE WINSLOW BOY comes to Roundabout directly from The Old Vic Theatre in London. The Winslow Boy, starring Michael Cumpsty, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio,Alessandro Nivola and Roger Rees, directed by Lindsay Posner, will officially open on October 17, 2013, after beginning previews on Friday, Sept. 20 at American Airlines Theatre.

Ghost was one of the most advanced productions I have ever seen because of the lighting design, magic tricks and the use of digital images. This production showed what I believe is going to be Broadway within the next 10 years. Technology is in every aspect of our lives now so it's no surprise that a musical production is fully embracing what it can do.

Signature Theatre has announced a third and final one week extension for the World Premiere of Horton Foote's THEOLD FRIENDS, directed by Michael Wilson. The production will now play its final performance on Sunday, October 20. THE OLD FRIENDS opened to critical acclaim on September 12 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.

ARGUENDO began performances on Tuesday, September 10, and was originally extended through October 13. The show officially opened on Tuesday, September 24, and will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, October 27.
