Theatre Aspen today announced casting for its summer season, opening with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Avenue Q, on June 25th. Theatre Aspen today announced that single tickets and passes for the summer season will go on sale April 16th. Deals include customizable season passes for both two or three shows, discounted preview passes and the popular Local's Pass ($20 off 2- and 3-show passes), for valley residents willing to attend within a specific date range.

Sophie Schlosser, who played 'Molly' in Theatre Aspen's summer production of Annie, returned this week from New York City, where she had a private audition for the upcoming Broadway production of Annie.

On Tuesday, November 15, Singing OnStage Productions will hold a private reading in Manhattan of a new musical titled Nightfall, with book, music, and lyrics by Caleb Hoyer. Hoyer is a graduate of NYU's composition department and has served as music director and pianist for many productions, including the hit cabaret series If It Only Even Runs a Minute.

Tickets are now on sale for two winter productions at Theatre Aspen, an award-winning professional theatre in the Rocky Mountains. Annie played to sold-out houses in Aspen this summer, and was the largest musical ever produced by the organization, now in its twenty-eighth year. Annie will run from December 16th - 23rd, at the historic Wheeler Opera House in downtown Aspen.

The award-winning regional theatre unveiled the brand new Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park on June 24th with two musicals and a comedy. The theatre's 28th season of summer repertory features the regional premiere of Becky's New Car, by native Coloradan Steven Dietz, starring Emmy- and Tony-nominee Sandy Duncan. Opening July 7th is the beloved musical Annie, by Thomas Meehan (book), Charles Strouse (music) and Martin Charnin (lyrics), and the new musical Vices: A Love Story, (story by Michael Heitzman & Ilene Reid, and music and lyrics by Susan Draus, Everett Bradley, Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid).
