Hal David, Chairman/CEO of the Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF), today announced that Maxyne Lang will receive the Abe Olman Publisher Award to be presented at the 2009 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards 40th Anniversary gala, slated for Thursday, June 18th, at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.

A single voice begins to sing a Barry Manilow classic - exquisitely, soon to be joined by the other members of BBC's Last Choir Standing winners 'Only Men Aloud' and suddenly 'One Voice' explodes into an huge wall of sound as stunning vocals advance upon the ears of the audience. This opening number set the tone for the rest of what turned out to be a fantastic evening in the first 'Only Men Aloud' UK national tour, which opened on April 26 at the Swansea Grand Theatre.

Tony Award nominated actress (for Mamma Mia) Louise Pitre has been cast to play Rose in the concert production of Gypsy at the Talk Is Free Theater in Barrie, Ontario. The new season at TIFT will begin on October 22 with the premiere of A Tale of How Ivan Ivanovich and Ivan Nikiforovich Had a Fight, followed by the concert production of Gypsy from November 25 and 26th. Next up is Assassins at the Downtown Theater Jan 21-30.
