Based on the spell-binding novel by Anne Rice, Cry to Heaven is a dramatic new musical with music and lyrics by three-time Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Matthew Wilder and a book by Roy Freirich and Debrah Neal. The show will be developed through The 5th Avenue's New Works Program focusing on early stage cultivation of new musicals, one of seven musicals in various stages of development.

BRIC has announced that legendary soul singer Chaka Khan will open the 37th annual Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival, with a free concert June 3 at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Dubbed the "Queen of Funk," Chaka has stunned artists, audiences and critics alike over her 40-year career. She brings her unbridled talent to the Bandshell, continuing BRIC's longstanding tradition of presenting an eclectic mix of artists at the forefront of their field, all within the singular environs of Prospect Park. MB Financial Park kicks off the summer season with Rockin' in the Park 2014. Tessanne Chin is a Jamaican reggae fusion recording artist, best known for winning season five of the American reality TV singing competition The Voice on Adam Levine's team. Tessanne will make her Canadian debut tonight, May 17, 2014 with her Bread & Butter Band at The Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto.
