BWW Review: Holy Ogre! SHREK THE MUSICAL Is A Blast!

Arizona Broadway Theatre's staging of SHREK THE MUSICAL exceeds expectations. Mace Archer has gone beyond the norm, directing something more than a lively and exhilarating show. He's fashioned a distinctive and incredibly intimate and engaging experience that speaks with authenticity to audience members young and older. Archer is aided and abetted in this theatrical coup by a gangbuster cast, featuring the awesome foursome of Jason Simon as the 'big stupid ugly ogre,' Liz Fallon as Fiona, Deonte Warren as Donkey, and David Brumfield as Lord Farquaad.

BWW Review: Arizona Broadway Theatre Presents CAROUSEL

Arizona Broadway Theatre's CAROUSEL offers an uneven ride, punctuated only by the stellar performances of Jeannie Shubitz, Jill-Christine Wiley, and Kathleen Berger and Jim Hunter's elaborate set design.

Florida Rep Opens Season with the 'Funniest Farce Ever Written'

'The New York Post was right,' said Producing Artistic Director Robert Cacioppo, 'this really is the most brilliant and most well constructed farce ever written. This play was Florida Rep's inaugural production in 1998 for a reason. Because it truly is a love letter to the theatre, and because our audiences love to laugh.'

Florida Rep Presents 'The Big Bang' A Zany Musical Comedy

Written by Boyd Graham and Jed Feuer, The Big Bang is a deliriously funny musical that the New York Daily News called 'Inspired Nonsense!' It unfolds in the elegant Park Avenue apartment of Dr. Sid and Sylvia Lipbalm, a proctologist and his wife, as Jed & Boyd pitch a musical they have written, The Big Bang, to a houseful of prospective investors. With a budget of $83.5 million and a cast 318, it is the most expensive and most lavish musical ever conceived, and over the course of the evening, Jed & Boyd pull out all the stops as Florida Rep audiences sit in as the potential backers. The dynamic duo hits all the historical highlights, from building the pyramids to Napoleon's France and the Antebellum South. Jed & Boyd give investors a taste of the impending extravaganza and play all the parts along the way - from Adam and Eve to Ceaser and his Soothsayer, Mrs. Ghandi, Attila the Hun, Columbus and Isabella, Pocahontas and Minihaha, Tokyo Rose and Shanghai Lil, Eva Braun and more - keeping audiences in stitches as they turn the Lipbalm apartment - and history - upside-down.
