DSI Comedy Set Opens New Space Today

There are a lot of hammers and nails at work in DSI Comedy Theater's new home. Beginning today, May 1, DSI Comedy Theater will be running classes and shows in its new space at 462 W. Franklin Street. DSI Comedy Theater staff and local contractors have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the new space. The new space will kick off with a stellar weekend of performances welcoming New York City based musical sketch comedy sensations, Pop Roulette, Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at 8:30 p.m.

North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival Kicks Off Today

Still the biggest comedy festival in the South, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival is going through some changes. The festival is running for 10 straight days this year and while it will feature some of the best rising stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy across the nation, this year the festival will delve into the community in ways it never has previously.

The Magnet Theater presents The Fourth Annual New York Musical Improv Festival from October 4-7. Minnesota resident Jill Bernard is a treasure in the world of improv. She is a noted performer, instructor and author. Recently, her company, HUGE Improv Theater in Minneapolis held a fundraiser and one auction prize was a chance to perform with Bernard. The winner was DSI Comedy Theater Company Member Kit Fitzsimmons. This hilarious show will run Saturday, September 22 at 9 p.m. All shows take place at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N. ImprovBoston Presents 2012 College Comedy Festival, 2/23-25

The annual ImprovBoston Beanpot Tournament has grown this year. For the first time ever, ImprovBoston is presenting the College Comedy Festival. Built upon the success of past Beanpot Tournaments, this year's tournament has expanded into a college comedy festival. The festival runs from Thursday, February 23 to Saturday, February 25. Philadelphia Comedy Month Resumes
