Kathleen and Henry Chalfant are hosting an intimate salon event on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in their Brooklyn Heights residence to benefit the New York Foundation for the Arts. Performance and video artist Kalup Linzy and multimedia artist Saya Woolfalk are co-hosting the event. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, located at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, announces its Fall 2016season of public programs. The season features free public programs throughout the fall and winter, with contemporary theatre and performing artists from around the world.

The Paul Dresher Ensemble Presents the music theater production Schick Machine September 23-25 on San Francisco's Z Space Main Stage prior to tour. Directed by Rinde Eckert virtuoso percussionist Steven Schick inhabits a fantastical stage filled with huge invented instruments and sound sculptures - including the Hurdy Grande, the Tumbler, the Field of Flowers and the Peacock (a deconstructed pipe organ). After the performance, the audience is invited onstage to engage and explore a kind of audio "maker" sound and visual domain. The Obie Award-Winning  Ma-Yi Theater Company presents the New York premiere of HOUSE RULES, a new play by A. Rey Pamatmat, which opened last night, Thursday, March 31st, at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, NYC). HOUSE RULES began previews on March 25th and runs through Saturday, April 16th.  Jessica Hagedorn, Tonya Pinkins ('Gotham'), Cory Michael Smith ('Gotham') and Andre Holland ('The Knick') celebrated with the cast at the opening night party. Tonight, March 8th, the Pen Parentis Literary Salon will feature an intimate evening with three writers to watch: Lauren Acampora who wrote a story collection chosen as one of the best books of the year by Amazon, Rumaan Alam, a New York magazine journalist whose highly anticipated debut novel will be out in Spring 2016, and Helen Phillips, whose first novel was a New York Times Notable book of 2015.

HOUSE RULES, a new play by A. Rey Pamatmat, will be given its NY premiere by the award-winning Asian-American Off-Broadway MA-YI THEATER COMPANY at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, NYC), with previews set to begin March 25 prior to its official opening night on April 1. HOUSE RULES is directed by Ralph B. Peña. This limited-engagement will conclude on April 16, 2016.

South Coast Repertory today announced that OFFICE HOUR, a commissioned work from Julia Cho, will receive its world premiere in performances April 10-May 1, 2016. Stage, film and television actor Sandra Oh will lead the cast for this production, which also is part of the Pacific Playwrights Festival. Neel Keller will direct OFFICE HOUR on the Julianne Argyros Stage.

Directed by Obie Award winnerLes Waters (Doris to Darlene at PH; the recent 10 Out of 12; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Big Love; eurydice), the play is the opening production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

For the first time in two decades, The Kitchen will present a new edition of the acclaimed performance series And That's How the Rent Gets Paid, written by downtown legends Jeff Weiss and Richard C. Martinez. For three nights only (tonight, July 14, through July 16), Weiss and Martinez's thrilling serial drama, which follows a charming serial killer through the queer underbelly of New York City, will be brought to life by director and producer Brooke O'Harra with Kate Valk and Nicky Paraiso. The three-day marathon performance features an eclectic group of 50 performers including David Cale, Jennifer Miller, Keith McDermott, Becca Blackwell, Jess Barbagallo, Moe Angelos and Mark Bennett, among others. Weiss will appear in the production, in various cameo performances, throughout the three-day run.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that renowned playwright Caryl Churchill's internationally acclaimed new work, Love and Information, will make its West Coast debut as the inaugural production at A.C.T.'s new Strand Theater, completing the line-up for the 2014-15 season.
