ABC's hit sitcom, 'Modern Family' is known for its realistic portrayal of the average family. However, the behavior of the show's gay couple, Cameron (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Mitchell (Eric Stonestreet) exemplify the latest inconsistency to be picked up by viewers. Although the sitcom is often praised for its non-stereotypical portrayal of the gay community, viewers are starting to see just the opposite.

Stage and screen vet - and current star of THE ADDAMS FAMILY on Broadway - Nathan Lane, will guest star on an episode of ABC's Modern Family this fall. Lane will play Pepper, the flamboyant friend of Mitchell (played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (played by Eric Stonestreet). According to deadline.com, amongst a short list of announced Primetime Emmy Award presenters is Broadway veteran and GLEE superstar Matthew Morrison . Fellow Emmy nominees January Jones, Julianna Margulies, and Sofia Vergara along with Ricky Gervais and John Krasinski are the first group of presenters announced for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.

RIALTO CHATTER: Two MERCHANTs to Play New York in 2011?

The New York Times has announced that The Public Theater is actively working on a Broadway transfer of it's production of Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino, now playing at the Delacorte Theater. That production is scheduled to close August 1. The Public's Executive Director Andrew Hamingston tells the Times that a transfer is dependant upon the film and television filming conflicts amongst several of the cast members, including Lily Rabe, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Hamish Linklater.

USA Network Acquires Rights to 'Modern Family'

USA Network has reached an agreement with Twentieth Television, acquiring the exclusive syndication rights to the critically acclaimed ratings hit MODERN FAMILY. The announcement was made today by Jane Blaney, USA's executive vice president, programming, acquisitions and scheduling and Steve MacDonald, EVP, General Sales Manager, Basic Cable of Twentieth Television. Under the agreement, USA will strip the series Monday through Sunday beginning Fall 2013.
