The Fall Season is rapidly approaching and that means new shows on Broadway AND on Television. And as we know, sometimes those worlds intermix and we see some of our faves on the little screen. One of the new shows on ABC this fall is 'Modern Family' which stars some Broadway notables such as Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Spelling Bee) and Sarah Hyland (Grey Gardens). Broadway star Jesse Tyler Ferguson - who originated the role of Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee - stars in ABC's new comedy 'Modern Family.'

On Sunday, Aug 23rd 2009, Upright Cabaret's incredibly popular 'Wicked Summer Nights' series at the Ford Amphitheatre drew to a close with a spectacular concert entitled 'Stephen Schwartz: Making Good' which set out to celebrate the works of the man who inspired the series, Mr. Stephen Schwartz.

This last in the series of Wicked Summer Nights concerts from Upright Cabaret @ the Ford Amphitheatre Sunday evening August 23 was undoubtedly the best. It boasted the introduction on the West Coast of Stephen Schwartz's new opera Seance on a Wet Afternoon, narrated by Schwartz and sung magnificently by Lauren Flanigan and company. Act II was a fitting celebration of Schwartz's past works with a lineup of very exciting, and mostly fresh, lesser known talents.

Valour! Compassion!), Liz Callaway (Baby) and Gavin Creel (Hair) for 'Broadway Stands up for Freedom!,' a benefit concert to support the youth programs of the New York Civil Liberties Union.

'Monty Python's Spamalot,' the popular musical lovingly ripped-off from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,' opened Center Theatre Group's 2009-2010 at the Ahmanson Theatre of the Los Angeles Music Center on July 7th. 'Monty Python's Spamalot' plays through September 6, 2009.

'Ugly Betty' star Vanessa Williams guested on The Wendy Williams Show and spoke on a variety of subjects, including an upcoming musical episode for the ABC comedy series.

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, will present An Evening With...William Finn & Friends on Monday, June 15th at 7:00PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, 121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Bedford Streets.
