An Evening With...William Finn & Friends: A special evening of talk & song featuring the Tony Award-winning composer of FALSETTOS and Broadway stars from the original casts of Finn's productions is a benefit for Transport Group. Held Mon, 6/15/09 at 7pm at The Lucille Lortel Theatre, 121 Christopher Street.
Join Transport Group Artistic Director Jack Cummings III for an evening of talk and song with one of New York's most talented theatre artists, the Tony Award winning composer/lyricist, William Finn.
Mr. Finn is considered to be one of the most original voices in the American musical theatre. A heavily autobiographical writer, his exploration of the gay and Jewish experience in contemporary America is unparalleled. He is universally revered for capturing the joy and pain brought on by family sickness and aging. Mr. Finn's musicals include Falsettos, A New Brain, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Original cast members of Finn's shows will perform songs from his productions. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind event celebrating this truly original voice. Musical direction by Vadim Feichtner.
