Music Theatre International (MTI) and iTheatrics recently joined First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House to support The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities' (PCAH) successful Turnaround Arts initiative, a program designed to help turn around low-performing schools, narrow the achievement gap, and increase student engagement through the arts. The program was celebrated at the White House with a special showcase of various schools from around the country who have benefitted from the initiative.

The Public Theater announced today that John Lithgow, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Zachary Quinto, Martha Plimpton, Billy Porter, Jonathan Groff, Sutton Foster, Joshua Bell, Lindsay Mendez, Claybourne Elder, Krysta Rodriguez, Marissa McGowan, Laura Shoop, Peter Dugan, Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Jessica Wu, Mylinda Hull, Brooke Sunny Moriber, Nicole Lewis and other special guests and alumni will perform in the one-night-only Public Theater annual gala ONE THRILLING COMBINATION on Monday, June 23 at the Delacorte Theater.

The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Hair, the American Tribal Love-Rock musical, which won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best revival of a musical in 2009, will star Kristen Bell as Sheila, Hunter Parrish as Claude, Amber Riley as Dionne, Jenna Ushkowitz as Jeanie and Beverly D'Angelo as Mom. Adam Shankman will direct and choreograph. Hair will be conducted by Lon Hoyt. Zach Woodlee will serve as associate director and associate choreographer. Additional casting is to be announced.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson sat down with some of this year's Tony Award nominees in honor his second annual Tie the Knot Tony bow tie. Celebrating 15 years, The Trevor Project will honor Arianna Huffington with the Trevor Hero Award at "TrevorLIVE New York" on June 16th at the Marriott Marquis, presented by Wells Fargo. Huffington will be honored for her ongoing support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) community. The award will be presented at The Trevor Project's high-profile evening of music, comedy and entertainment which brings together top entertainers, advocates and corporate leaders to support the organization's life-saving, life-affirming work for LGBT and questioning youth in crisis.

TTK raises funds to support various organizations fighting for marriage equality.
