The critically acclaimed Broadway revival of THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES, starring Ben Stiller, Edie Falco and Jennifer Jason Leigh, directed by David Cromer will conclude its Broadway run on Saturday, June 25th after 21 previews and 72 regular performances. The production opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) on Monday, April 25, 2011.

The hit musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, celebrated its 500th performance with a special cake-cutting with the cast: Tony Award winner Roger Rees as Gomez; two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia, Brad Oscar as Fester, Rachel Potter as Wednesday, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Zachary James as Lurch, Heidi Blickenstaff as Alice Beineke, Adam Grupper as Mal Beineke and Jesse Swenson as Lucas Beineke.

Denver Center Attractions has announced a high-spirited, award-winning season of Broadway hits headed to Denver.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Broadway's musical comedy based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will receive its first international production when it debuts at Teatro Abril in Sao Paulo, Brazil next spring (2012), produced in partnership with Time for Fun Productions.

According to the NY Times, President Barack Obama has chosen SISTER ACT for his first Broadway fundraiser of his re-election campaign. The event, which will be held on June 23, will be hosted by producer Whoopi Goldberg. Tickets for the special performance range from $250 to $10,000 (the latter of which includes a photoshoot with the President).

Unless the names 'Noel' and 'Coward' are involved, I tend to be a bit wary about musicals with the book, music, lyrics and direction all by the same person, but Willard Beckham makes a very entertaining go of it with his campy, country/western musical comedy, Lucky Guy.

Stage and screen star Brooke Shields will join THE ADDAMS FAMILY in the role of Morticia beginning Tuesday, June 28 at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). Two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will play her final performance in the role on Sunday, June 26. Ms. Shields will play opposite Roger Rees, who stars as Gomez. Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for all media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2010-11 season in 23 categories.

Producers Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment have announced that the Tony-nominated Broadway musical SISTER ACT will launch a North American tour at Toronto's Canon Theatre in the fall of 2012. Additional cities, dates and casting will be announced at a later date. The North American tour of SISTER ACT will be booked by The Road Company.
