Jerry's 90th Birthday Party soon became a telethon of happiness as the Friars evening unfolded.  The pledges given to Jerry Lewis were of love and respect and they came from his fellow Friars and entertainers jam packed into the Frank Sinatra Dining Room.  The amount of laughs in the club even created a new total of hysterics for an institution that has been the home of much laughter during its storied show biz history.

Leading names from both sides of the Atlantic will come together this April in London to develop a new musical. Tony Award-nominated singer & actress Melissa Errico will star in the workshop of The Gold Room which features original music by five-time Grammy nominee Michael Feinstein and book & lyrics by Walking With Dinosaurs writer Warner Brown. Conceived originally by Brown, The Gold Room explores a night behind closed doors in the life of Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for its spring musical, Pump Boys and Dinettes. This Tony Award nominee features James Barry (Jim), Gabe Bowling (Jackson), Julie Foldesi (Prudie), Jason Ostrowski (L.M.), Alysha Umphress (Rhetta) and Sam Weber (Eddie).  Pump Boys and Dinettes is conceived and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann. Pump Boys and Dinettes will be directed by John Foley with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Pump Boys and Dinettes will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater from April 6 through May 1, 2016. The official press opening night is Sunday, April 10, at 7:00pm. A Fan Favorite is returning to the State Theatre as comedian Bobby Collins hits the stage on Friday, April 1. Collins returns in support of his 4th DVD which was recorded at the State Theatre last March. This DVD, aptly entitled Bobby Collins: Live from the State Theatre, will be available for purchase on the night of the show.

After BroadwayWorld launched its New York Cabaret Awards in 2012, the cabaret section's editors realized that the selected categories and the popular vote nature of the election didn't adequately recognize some great performances and shows for that particular year. So in 2013, BWW added "Editor's Choice Awards" to the mix to not only reward special performances but also to acknowledge people who have helped grow cabaret and foster the spirit of the art form. This year, BWW New York Cabaret Editor Stephen Hanks and his reviewing staff-including Alix Cohen, David Clarke, Billie Roe, Rembert Block, and John Hoglund-selected seven stars of cabaret for this special honor. Now that the Awards for 2015 performances and shows are official, we wanted to tell you a bit about this year's "Editor's Choice Award" winners and offer them a chance to thank the New York cabaret community. Congratulations to all these worthy Award recipients.
