Building on the success and support the theatre has attained over the last few years, Riverside is proud to present a magnificent season of music, comedy, and drama.

Almost 10 years ago, now Tony and MAC nominated Corinna Sowers Adler made her debut with a highly acclaimed cabaret entitled 'Stories'. On Sunday, April 22, at 4:30pm, she will bring the show concept back to The Triad Theater on West 72nd Street, in a new version entitled 'Second Stories' which features the story song works of some of today's most beloved composers like Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, Kurt Weill, Ira Gershwin as well as some lesser known surprises by Phil Hanseroth, Adam Gwon, Meg Flather, Garry Novikoff and many others.

The original producers of Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller, Broadway's longest running musical revue, announced today that the show will return to New York this summer following a limited engagement at Maine's Ogunquit Playhouse. Preview performances will begin at New York's Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street) on July 6 and opening night is set for July 22. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, March 12 through telecharge.com and the box office will open on June 25. Casting is to be announced.

The legendary Ogunquit Playhouse is thrilled to produce five spectacular musicals for its upcoming season that includes an all-new production of the sizzling song and dance celebration Smokey Joe's Cafe, the U.S. premiere of the hilarious new musical Grumpy Old Men, a beautiful new production of the classic Oklahoma!, and the first regional production of the sumptuous new musical An American in Paris. Closing out the season is a surprise smash musical sensation that will run for an unprecedented 8 weeks, from September 5 through October 28, which will be announced in March.

Grammy Award-winner and two time Emmy nominee Steve Tyrell returns to Cafe Carlyle, April 10-14. Steve Tyrell just celebrated thirteen years of sold out Cafe residencies in the revered holiday slot, having taken over for Bobby Short in 2005. His new album, A Song For You, is out on February 9 via New Design Records and East/West Records. The 12-track release features Tyrell's takes on classic love songs by Van Morrison, Leon Russell, Jackie Wilson, Harold Arlen & Johnny Mercer and more. A Song For You furthers Tyrell's vision of bridging songwriting from the rock era with that of the standards era, placing at its core the fundamental immortality of great songwriting. He'll perform selections from A Song For Youduring this run of shows.

It takes one to know one and radio Legend Dick Robinson, a hero to all who love the Great American Songbook presented  another legend, Steve Tyrell, a true icon of the music world with the prestigious Legends Award at the Essey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College last night. It was Legends Radio's 4th Birthday Celebration and radio hosts Jill & Rich Switzer, Walt Pinto, Lorna O'Connell, and Mike McGann were also heard 'live' in the Essey Theatre, which was filled with listeners of Legends 100.3FM. 

According to an Equity casting notice, Smokey Joe's Cafe might be heading back to New York City. Historic Maine theatre Ogunquit Playhouse will feature the revue this May-June, and afterwards, the production will get an off Broadway run at Stage 42.

But for decades - especially from the mid 1950's to the mid 1960's - Leiber and Stoller were one of America's most successful songwriting teams. Stage Door Theatre will honor this iconic duo when they present Smokey Joe's Caf - The Songs of Leiber and Stoller, a compendium of some of their greatest hits, in the popular Margate venue's intimate Theatre 2 from December 15th through January 14th.
