Last night, the theater community came out in force to support the New York nightclub debut of CAROLINE O'CONNOR, who has been knocking 'em dead in musicals in the West End and Australia. The sold-out house cheered when Caroline announced that, by popular demand, she would be adding another show next Monday, January 25 at 7pm.

On January 17, Birdland will host Stage and screen star Caroline O'Connor in concert, The Girl From Oz: An Evening With Caroline O'Connor, at 6pm.

Chicago favorites Laura Freeman and Bradford Newquist with pianist William Underwood bring together a glittering mosaic of the world's favorite American music. The line-up features some of the best known composers and showstoppers from the past and current musicals. As previously reported, Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, Bernadette Peters will pen a second children's book, Stella is a Star, set for publishing and release this spring by Blue Apple Books. The book, inspired by Peters' dog Stella, will feature illustrations by Liz Murphy. Proceeds will go to Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore over over 10 year ago in support of animal shelters.

Five-time Emmy Award-winning star Kelsey Grammer will make his Broadway musical debut opposite Olivier Award-winner Douglas Hodge in the Tony Award and Oliver Award-winning musical comedy, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. The acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory production that dazzled London will begin previews on April 6, 2010 and open on April 18, 2010 at Broadway's Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street).

Bernadette Peters devotes her time and talents to numerous events that benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Peters' 'pet project' is Broadway Barks, which she co-founded with friend Mary Tyler Moore, which is an annual, star-studded dog and cat adoption event presented each summer in Shubert Alley, benefiting over two dozen rescue shelters throughout the New York City area. She recently added author and songwriter to her roster of achievements with her debut children's book Broadway Barks which debuted on The New York Times Bestseller list.

One of the most popular events at The Way off Broadway Dinner Theatre and Children's Theatre is its annual Breakfast with Santa (and Mrs. Claus). Each year, children and their families get to spend a festive morning with Mrs. Claus and the elves waiting for Santa's arrival. This year, the theatre has three scheduled breakfasts: Saturday, December 19th; Sunday, December 20th; and Thursday, December 23rd.

GMCLA presents there own twist on a theatrical classic. Since actors of the Greek theatres in the city of Thespiae and long before Shakespeare had penned his very first stage play, men have been theatrically portraying women in productions. Now, in the tradition of Madam Butterfly and Hairspray, the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) tackled the classic pageantry of the 'Nutcracker: A choral Fantasy' at the Alex Theatre in Glendale California with male chorus members doubling in the female roles. Among those in attendance include Loni Anderson, Kate Linder, Assembly member John Perez (46th District) and Dee Wallace.
