Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, welcomes the return of Drama Desk Award-winner Jim Brochu in his new show Character Man, following his wildly successful run of Zero Hour in 2011. A musical valentine celebrating the Golden Age of the American Musical, Character Man will be presented at BSC's St. Germain Stage at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center from tonight, September 18 through 28. The press opening is Saturday, September 20 at 7:30pm.

The Pasadena Playhouse welcomes Wayne Brady as Fred/Petruchio in the Cole Porter Broadway musical KISS ME, KATE. The multi-Emmy Award winning Brady will head a cast of 17. Epps will direct the 2014-2015 Season opener, which will run from today, September 16- October 12, 2014 with the official press opening on September 21. The production also stars Merle Dandridge (Broadway's Spamalot and Tarzan) as Lily/Kate.

On Sunday September 7, at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, due to an advance sell-out crowd for the 7 pm show, an additional matinee show was performed for the Fourth Anniversary of Kritzerland. Needless to say, both matinee and evening performances were sold out, making the monthly Kritzerland tributes the most popular shows at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal. The anniversary party was entitled They're Playing Our Song: The Songs That Got Away III and along with special guests Kerry O'Malley and Bruce Vilanch, the big cast also included Robert Yacko, Evan Harris, Madison Claire Parks, Sami Staitman, Jenna Lea Rosen, and also little Hadley Miller, and in chorus numbers of What If?: Kimberly Hessler, Travis Leland, Bruce Merkle, and Adrienne Visnic, all under the baton of super musical director John Boswell. This marked the 49th Kritzerland show since its inception at the Gardenia in 2010, and its host Bruce Kimmel, founder of Kritzerland Records, was in rare form, doling out trivia-worthy anecdotes about every number presented, as well as singing a song himself, due to the absence of Guy Haines.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at CCBC Essex, hosts its 8TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GALA from 6:30 p.m. until 11 p.m., today, Sept. 6 in the College Community Center Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. 'Hello, Andrea!' That's what audiences will be saying with much enthusiasm when Broadway's legendary star Andrea McArdle returns to The Media Theatre as the iconic Dolly Levi in "Hello Dolly" in spring 2015. McArdle, who wowed audiences and theatre critics alike with her memorable performance as "Mame" in 2013, will take on her second Jerry Herman musical in Media April 15-May 17.

Paper Mill Playhouse lost its former Executive Producer Angelo Del Rossi on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Angelo Del Rossi helmed Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, for forty years. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 1, 2014 in Montclair, NJ. Paper Mill Playhouse is planning a memorial tribute at the Millburn theater where the entire theater community can celebrate the life of Angelo Del Rossi. Date, time and more information is forthcoming. The Production Company today announced additional performances in its season of Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman masterpiece, La Cage Aux Folles. These additional performances in the Playhouse at Arts Centre Melbourne are on November 21 and 30 and December 2 and 7.
