Amy Adams hosted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE with musical guest One Direction last night, December 20, 2014. To open the show, she was interrupted by Kristen Wiig and eventually joined on stage by a chorus of Christmasy dancers to sing 'We Need a Little Christmas' from MAME. Check out the clip below!

30 years after it opened on Broadway, musical revue Jerry's Girls will be revived in a limited two-week run at the St. James Studio, it was announced today. On sale now. Featuring songs from classic musicals including Hello Dolly!, Mame, and La Cage Aux Folles, Jerry's Girls brings together an all-female cast to celebrate Jerry's special gift for writing songs that capture the true spirit of the great American musical, honouring the legacy of the multi Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist of some of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2015 Season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. 'This is a thrilling roster of artists,' said Muny Artistic Director and Executive Producer Mike Isaacson. 'We look forward to bringing their vision and talent to our grand stage.'

Chicagoland's longest running musical theatre, The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL, kicks off their 40th anniversary 2015 season with one of Broadway's all-time biggest hits, La Cage aux Folles. The 11-time Tony Award-winning musical, the first to win Best Musical three times, previews January 28, opens February 4, and runs through March 22.

As a kid, I loved all things Annie. I wasn't yet born when the show premiered on Broadway, but was introduced to it - like many were in the 80s - through the cast recording and the initial movie version. I'm no longer a little kid, but I have to admit I was pretty excited to see Andrea McArdle - the original red-headed orphan who I had previously only heard on an audio recording - in her solo cabaret performance at Kennedy Center last week as part of the Barbara Cook's Spotlight Series. The series features some of the best performers that Broadway has to offer and Ms. McArdle is certainly deserving of her place within that elite group for her long career in musical theatre.

Legendary Broadway star, actress/singer Betty Buckley will be performing the songs from her recently released album GHOSTLIGHT, produced by 13 time GRAMMY Award Winner T Bone Burnett in a concert featuring a six piece band at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles on January 24, 2015. Buckley will also be performing on January 17th at the Annenberg in Palm Springs with pianist Christian Jacob.

With her production of DOGFIGHT nominated Best Musical in the recent Evening Standard Awards (her leading actress, Laura Jane Matthewman won Best Emerging Talent), and with rehearsals underway for the European premiere of Jerry Herman's 1979 Broadway musical, The Grand Tour, which opens at the Finborough Theatre on January 1, producer Danielle Tarento today announces the world premiere of GODS AND MONSTERS.

Asolo Repertory Theatre kicks off its 2014-15 rep season with three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Thornton Wilder's uproarious romantic comedy, THE MATCHMAKER. Directed by Peter Amster, the play opens Friday, January 9, 2015 at 8pm, with previews Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, January 7 and Thursday, January 8 at 8pm. THE MATCHMAKER, which was adapted into the Tony Award-winning musical Hello, Dolly!, runs in rotating rep through Saturday, April 11, 2015.

The book is by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman.
