Austin Shakespeare will present the New York premiere of the new stage adaptation of Ayn Rand's novel ANTHEM. The production directed by Artistic Director, Ann Ciccolella, originated in Austin at the Long Center for the Performing Arts in 2011, where Austin Shakespeare is a resident company. Previews are to begin September 25 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center's Jerome Robbins Theater in New York City - opening October 4and running for a ten week run through December 1, 2013

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) present The Music Box, An Evening of Lady Composers. Recent Tony-nominee Keala Settle (Hands on a Hardbody) is set to appear and Karen Azenberg (Artistic Director - Pioneer Theatre, Salt Lake City) will direct this special one-night-only concert event.

Throughout GYPSY's storied history, it has been produced numerous times across this country; the 'greatest American musical' is also often referred to as a 'perfect' musical. And Maine State Music Theatre's current production of GYPSY is just that: perfect.

Tony Award-winner Faith Prince returns to Broadway as evil orphanage matron Miss Hannigan in the new Broadway production of ANNIE at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway between 46th and 47th Streets). She will begin performances tonight, July 19. Emmy Award-winning 'Glee' star Jane Lynch will play her final performance as Miss Hannigan on Sunday, July 14.

BEND IN THE ROAD, a new musical comedy, is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's (NYMF) 2013 Next Link Project. The entire run sold out so quickly that NYMF today announced that the production will play a special added performance on Thursday, July 25that 1PM.

In a last minute change: Nancy Opel has stepped in to replace Liz Larsen, who had to cancel due to illness. The cast and crew are so pleased and touched that Nancy was available and willing to step in just one day before the reading!

MDT welcomes Charles Askegard home to the Twin Cities in the position of Associate Artistic Director. Recently retired from a celebrated career with New York City Ballet, Mr. Askegard will bring the breadth of his experience to the organization where he began his dance training.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival will present a one-night-only concert of new music by up-and-coming composers Josh Freilich and Nikko Benson on Monday, July 22nd at 9:00pm at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre. Raymond Marc Dumont's eyes sparkle and he glows with enthusiasm as he talks about his current involvement with the company as choreographer for their production of Gypsy which runs from July 17- August 3 at the Pickard Theatre in Brunswick, ME. Not only is this production a homecoming for the Maine-born and raised actor, director, and choreographer, but it his first gig as a member of SDC, the directors and choreographers union.
