The Human Race Theatre Company continues its tradition of producing endearing musicals with the Joseph Stein/Jerry Bock/Sheldon Harnick classic, Fiddler on the Roof, the second production in its 27th season. Welcome to the village of Anatevka, where tradition is everything. But change is sweeping across the land and into poor dairyman Tevye's house. When his daughters want to break with the old ways and choose their own husbands, Tevye must decide which he loves more - his family's happiness or his long-held beliefs. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will take the stage at the Shakespeare Theatre Company this holiday season. Making his STC mainstage directing debut, STC Associate Director Alan Paul heads up the hilarious and fun musical farce based on the classic plays of ancient Roman playwright Plautus. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from November 21, 2013-January 5, 2014.

Paper Mill Playhouse will continue its 75th Anniversary Season with the classic Charles Dickens musical Oliver!, with a holiday 'twist' for the entire family. With a book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, Oliver! will be directed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee with original choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Oliver! will feature David Garrison (Fagin), best known for his role as Steve Rhoades on the hit television series Married...with Children, Betsy Morgan (Nancy), John Treacy Egan (Mr. Bumble), Jose Llana (Bill Sikes), David Hess (Mr. Brownlow), Ethan Haberfield (Artful Dodger) and introducing Tyler Moran as Oliver. Oliver! will also feature 16 local boys from across the state of New Jersey who auditioned from a pool of over 200. Oliver! will play the Millburn, New Jersey theater from November 21 through December 29. The official press opening night is Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 7:00pm.

New York Live Arts announces Sound Bar, a new program featuring live music curated by New York Live Arts in association with LE TRAIN BLEU, with happy hour drink specials at the Live Gallery Cafe on select Mondays in the fall, winter and spring, starting in November.

ANTHEM, presented by The Austin Shakespeare Theatre Company based on the acclaimed Ayn Rand novel, announced that Jonathan Hoenig, founding member of the Capitalist Pig hedge fund and contributor to The Fox News Channel will be participating in a talkback following the 8pm performance on Saturday, October 26th. ANTHEM plays at the Jerome Robbins Theater at the Baryshnikov Arts Center (450 W. 37th Street).

The tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Wilmington, Delaware. WEST SIDE STORY will open at the DuPont Theatre from December 3-8, 2013 for eight (8) performances only. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

There will be a memorial celebration for Paul Szilard (Dancer, Producer, Impresario and a great friend to the arts) on Thursday, October 31st, 2013 at 1:30 pm at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue at 18th Street, NYC. Participants will be LaRue Allen, Executive Director, Martha Graham Dance Company; Adrienne Dellas, Director of the Universal Ballet's Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C.; Calvin Hunt, Senior Director, Performance and Production, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; Judith Jamison, and Artistic Director Emerita, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. There will be performances by members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performing 'Song for You' and an excerpt from 'Cry'; students from the senior division of the Kirov Academy of Ballet performing the Adagio and Coda from 'Sleeping Beauty'; and members of the Martha Graham Dance Company performing 'Ritual to the Sun' from Acts of Light. The public is invited.

American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) will present a benefit evening of classic musical theater dance numbers from A Chorus Line, Contact, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, 42nd Street and Promises! Promises on Monday, November 11 at New York City Center, Studio Five at 7:00 p.m. Each piece has been coached by artists intimately involved in their original productions. The evening will be directed by Artistic Director Margo Sappington and feature live music with musical direction by Eugene Gwozdz. ADM21 is a new non-profit dance company founded by Executive Director Nikki Feirt Atkins, dedicated to creating a living and vibrant archive of classic and current notable musical theater choreography.

The lights dim in the cavernous hall, and the faint sound of a violin begins. Atop a thatched roof, is the vision of a Fiddler and then...the room becomes suddenly alive, in a grand opening, with the robust voices of over 50 peasant, villagers, singing 'TRADITION!..TRADITION!' And thus begins an enthusiastic and heartfelt rendition, of the classic American musical, 'FIDDLER on the ROOF', presented by the Live Oak Theatre Company, in Brooksville, FL.

Keep your eyes peeled next week for the release of the exciting 45 minute documentary on the rehearsal process for freeFall's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. This exciting collaboration with award winning documentarian Leigh Simons will take you behind the scenes into the rehearsals to give you an unprecedented look at what it takes to bring you freeFall's season. The film will be released as three 15-minute episodes that will be viewed online. Watch all three and you will be able to enter a contest to win a VIP Holiday Party for 10 at the theatre during our run of A Christmas Carol. The documentary will be released in an e-blast this week, as well as be seen on our website (freefalltheatre.com) and Facebook page.

Obie Award-winning playwright/performer David Drake, who most recently headlined an all-star ensemble benefit of his landmark show The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS last spring, returns to the New York stage with TAWNY, TELL ME TRUE. Written by and starring Drake, this drag tragicomedy with music will be directed by Robert La Fosse (Tony Award nominee for Jerome Robbins' Broadway) featuring musical direction by Lance Cruce (Joan River's longtime pianist, Karen Finley's Make Love), original music by Trevor Kuprel, and video by Ned Stresen Reuter. Performances begin October 19th at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

ANTHEM (www.AnthemThePlay.com), based on Ayn Rand's novel adapted and composed by Jeff Britting will conclude its Off-Broadway run at The Baryshnikov Arts Center on November 3rd. At the time of closing, ANTHEM will have played 13 previews and 32 regular performances.

New York Live Arts, in partnership with Performa for Performa 13, will present the U.S. premiere of French choreographer Jérôme Bel and Zurich-based Theater Hora's critically acclaimed Disabled Theater, November 12 – 16 at 7:30pm and November 17 at 3:00pm.

West Side Story, one of the greatest love stories of all time, recently played at the Ogunquit Playhouse stage, helmed by Broadway veteran director BT McNicholl. Choreographer Jeffry Denman reunited the cast to give 'Cool' a new life in Central Park. Check out the full number below!

According to an Equity casting notice, On the Town might be heading back to Broadway. Casting will soon take place for a developmental lab on December 8-19, with an anticipated Broadway revival in early 2014. The project will feature direction by John Rando, who also helmed a 2008 Encores production, and choreography by Josh Bergasse.
