On Tuesday, April 21, 2009, past Drama League honorees Bobby Cannavale, Cheyenne Jackson and Rosie Perez will announce the nominations for the The 75th Annual Drama League Awards.
The nominations will be announced live at Sardi's Restaurant (234 W. 44th St.) at 10:30 a.m.
The critically acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of MARY STUART, starring Janet McTeer as Mary, Queen of Scots and Harriet Walter as Elizabeth I, celebrated Opening Night at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on Sunday, April 19th, 2009. Two-time Golden Globe winner and Oscar Nominee Marsha Mason is profiled in a New York Post feature. Mason is currrently starring on Broadway in Michael Jacobs' IMPRESSIONISM, directed by Jack O'Brien.
Elton John (Billy Elliot: The Musical) will receive the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre Award, Arthur Laurents (West Side Story) will be honored with the Julia Hansen Award for Excellence in Directing, and Angela Lansbury (Blithe Spirit) will receive the Unique Contribution to the Theatre Award. In addition, Broadway producer Herb Blodgett will receive The 75th Anniversary Leadership Award.
Academy and Tony Award winning actor Jeremy Irons, currently starring on Broadway in IMPRESSIONISM, will be a guest on WNYC Radio's 'New York & Company' hosted by Leonard Lopate tomorrow Tuesday April 14 at Noon. WNYC is heard on 820 AM and 93.9 FM in New York.
FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post will continue its 10th Anniversary with 'The Actors Fund Broadway Series' on Monday nights from April 27 through the Tony Awards. To help raise money for The Actors Fund, the club will feature such Broadway luminaries as James Barbour, Andrea Burns, the cast of [title of show], Julia Murney and Norm Lewis. All admission proceeds will go directly to the assistance of professionals in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.
Academy and Tony Award winning actor Jeremy Irons, currently starring on Broadway in IMPRESSIONISM, will be interviewed by The New York Times' Janet Maslin at a Times Talk on Monday April 13 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at The Times Center, 242 West 41st Street at 6:30 PM. Kristen Johnston will co-host the 2009 Lucille Lortel Awards, trade paper Variety reports.
Presenters at the ceremony will include Jeremy Irons, Parker Posey, Kerry Butler, John Glover, Marsha Mason and Phyllis Newman, amongst others.
The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will present, BERLIN/WALL, two contrasting solo monologues written and performed by David Hare, for five performances only, May 14-17.

Tony Award winners Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons have returned to Broadway to star together in the world premiere of Impressionism, a new American play by Michael Jacobs opening at the Gerald SchoenfeldTheatre on Tuesday March 24, 2009.
