American Composers Orchestra Announces Orchestra Underground: American Accounts, 3/22

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) presents Orchestra Underground: American Accounts on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 7:30pm at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall. The concert, led by ACO Music Director & Conductor George Manahan, explores uniquely American stories - both in musical content and in the background of the composers - and features works by Aaron Copland, Milton Babbitt, Gabriel Kahane, and Michael Daugherty. (The premiere of Ian Williams' new piece, previously announced as being part of this concert, has been postponed.)

The San Francisco Symphony and Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas will be making their presence known in New York City this month with four concerts March 27-30 at Carnegie Hall as part of the American Mavericks celebration, a co-presentation by the Symphony and Carnegie Hall. While they are in New York, WNET's THIRTEEN will screen two PBS Great Performances programs on March 29 & 30 of concert events led by Michael Tilson Thomas: The Thomashefskys: Music & Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theater, and San Francisco Symphony at 100, including the Symphony's Centennial Season gala concert featuring Itzhak Perlman and Lang Lang.

Orchestra of St. Luke’s To Begin 2011-12 Season

On February 16, 2012, Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) will welcome back its first music director, the visionary Sir Roger Norrington, in Haydn's Symphony No. 39 in G minor and Mozart's Symphony No. 39 in E-flat Major. Hailed by The New York Times as 'a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs,' Jeremy Denk will make his OSL debut in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major.

On February 16, 2012 Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) will reunite with its first Music Director Sir Roger Norrington as part of its acclaimed three-concert Orchestra Series at Carnegie Hall. A leading figure in the movement for historically informed performance, Norrington will bring his keen perspective to a program of late-18th century works by three great masters of the Viennese Classical era: Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Giving his first concert with OSL in New York City, virtuoso pianist Jeremy Denk will perform as featured soloist.

Jeremy Denk replaces Argerich in a program that includes Mozart's Masonic Funeral Music, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, and Mozart's Symphony No. 35, 'Haffner.'
