Heck, Lacey, Foote and DeMarse Lead A Company of 22 For Signature's Wilson Helmed THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE

THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, the world premiere of a three part theatrical event by the late Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote, will feature a company of 22 actors under the direction of Michael Wilson. The exciting, sweeping work will be co-produced in the 2009-2010 season by Hartford Stage (Michael Wilson, Artistic Director; Michael Stotts, Managing Director) and Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director).

Lois Smith Returns To Hartford As Stella Gordon In DIVIDING THE ESTATE 5/28-7/5

Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Wilson and Managing Director Michael Stotts, announced today that acclaimed actress Lois Smith will return to Hartford Stage in the role of matriarch Stella Gordon as she joins the Broadway cast of Horton Foote's hit comedy Dividing the Estate for the production's run at Hartford Stage May 28 - July 5.

Hartford Stage Presents 'DIVIDING THE ESTATE' Opening 5/28

Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Michael Wilson, artistic director, and Michael Stotts, managing director, announced today that the Broadway hit comedy Dividing the Estate, by Horton Foote, directed by Wilson, will transfer to Hartford Stage in May 2009 to close the Tony Award-winning theatre's 45th season. The gospel musical drama Gee's Bend, which was to have been the sixth and final MainStage offering this year, has been postponed until next season.

Engeman Theater's THE FOREIGNER Opens Tonight 1/24

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport officially opens its production of the comedy THE FOREIGNER tonight, January 24th. The show runs through February 22, 2009. This inspired comic romp was the winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production. THE FOREIGNER is set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia; 'Froggy' LeSeuer, a British demolition expert, has brought along his pathologically shy friend, Charlie. Before departing, 'Froggy' tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone, the fun really begins as Charlie overhears more than he should. Charlie's little white lie fuels the nonstop hilarity of this play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the 'bad guys.' Dividing The Estate: Unstately Manners

It's taken 18 years for The great Horton Foote's terrific Reaganomics-era comedy to trickle down to New York since its 1987 premiere but director Michael Wilson's very funny and very human production at Primary Stages is well worth the wait.
