The Joyce Theater Foundation, in association with The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, REDCAT (Los Angeles), Dance Affiliates (Philadelphia), ODC Theater (San Francisco) and On the Boards (Seattle), is pleased to announce the 12 choreographers who will participate in The A.W.A.R.D Show! 2010: New York City, taking place at Joyce SoHo from November 17-20, 2010 at 7 p.m.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) announced today that Artistic Director Diane Paulus, Pulitzer prize-winning writer Suzan-Lori Parks, and two-time Obie winner Diedre Murray have been chosen by the Gershwin Trusts and the Heyward Trust to re-imagine the Gershwins' seminal American opera Porgy and Bess.

Film and television icon Pee-wee Herman (Paul Reubens) will bring his signature brand of hilarious mayhem to Broadway for a special six-week limited engagement of the acclaimed stage play, The Pee-wee Herman Show. The production will begin previews October 26 at the Sondheim Theatre.

Ginger Rogers danced her way into our hearts in the arms of Fred Astaire, setting the gold standard for grace and elegance on the silver screen. In her surprising true-life story, we follow her from the vaudeville stage at the age of 15 through her ascension to Hollywood goddess. BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS tells the story of this legendary dancer, singer and actress through the music of some of the 20th century's greatest composers and with plenty of dance numbers worthy of the Hollywood icon. BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS plays in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art from September 10 through October 2. It continues its run in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from October 7 through October 24. The Tucson media sponsors for the 2010-2011 season are Tucson Lifestyle, KGUN9 and MIX-FM. It's filled with names such as Sara Rudner, Rashaun Mitchell, John Kelly, Ellen Fisher, Judith Sanchez Ruiz, John Scott, Jennifer Monson, and Doug Elkins--in all, over 75 different performers, many of whom are appearing at La MaMa for the first time, and some of whom will be crossing the pond just for a chance to dance on one of its venerable stages. Dedicated to the 90TH birthday year of Ellen Stewart, the founder and artistic director of La MaMa, the 2010 festival extends from June 4-20.

After well received performances in New York and Washington DC, Los Angeles dance artist Lionel Popkin brings his latest work to REDCAT, featuring the original ensemble of Carolyn Hall, Ishmael Houston-Jones, Peggy Piacenza, Popkin, and a trio of musicians including composer Robert Een. Performances of There Is An Elephant In This Dance will take place at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater on Thursday, May 20, 2010 and run through Sunday, May 23, 2010.

The Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) is hosting the Best of the Arts Festival and the Best of the JAZZ Arts Festival showcasing New York City's finest in dance, performance art and jazz. The festivals feature lively performances by New Victory Theater, Ballet Hispanico, Garth Fagan Dance, and Dance! Out Loud with Jennifer Muller/The Works and WeBop presented by Jazz at Lincoln Center. The festivals serve to make the arts accessible to children and help bring an appreciation for jazz music to a new generation. Best of the Arts Festival takes place March 27-28, 30-31 and Best of the JAZZ Arts Festival takes place April 2-3, 2010.

Grace in Winter Silver Ball will be held to honor the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Evidence, A Dance Company. The Gala Will Honor Ronald K. Brown, Reginald Van Lee & Booz Allen Hamilton. The event will take place at the Grand Ballroom, in the The Plaza Hotel, New York, Monday February 8, 2010.

On Monday and Tuesday, January 11 and 12, the worlds of ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, and Broadway converged on the stage of Cedar Lake for Dance from the Heart | MEN, a four performance / two day festival of dance benefiting Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA) a fundraising program of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.
