Steven LaBrie and Ben Heppner Sign on for George London Foundation for Singers' 2015-16 Season

?The 2015-16 season marks two milestones for the George London Foundation for Singers, which has been honoring, supporting, and presenting the finest young opera singers in the U.S. and Canada since 1971:  the 45th annual George London Foundation Awards Competition, which gives George London Awards to young singers each year; and the 20th year of its acclaimed recital series, which presents pairs of singers, both established stars and recent George London Award winners, at The Morgan Library & Museum.

The Cleveland Orchestra Announces 98th Season

The Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser-Most have announced details of the Orchestra's 2015-16 season. The year marks the Orchestra's 98th season and the 14th season with Franz Welser-Most as Music Director.

NY Philharmonic Announces Worldwide Radio Broadcasts for Jan-March 2015

The January broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - begin with Alan Gilbert leading the Orchestra in an all-Mozart program: the Mass in C minor, Great, and Piano Concerto No. 22, featuring Emanuel Ax as soloist. The Mass features soprano Jennifer Zetlan, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano, tenor Paul Appleby, baritone Joshua Hopkins, and the New York Choral Artists, directed by Joseph Flummerfelt.

George London Foundation to Present Angela Meade & Nicholas Pallesen in Recital Next Month

Soprano Angela Meade is a 2008 George London Award winner who is the youngest singer ever to grace the cover of the annual "Diva" issue of Opera News (November 2014). Baritone Nicholas Pallesen is a 2013 George London Award winner making his New York recital debut. Joined by pianists Danielle Orlando and Craig Rutenberg, they will perform a duo recital on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 4:30 PM at The Morgan Library & Museum, presented by the George London Foundation for Singers. Both singers were featured in The Audition, the documentary about the 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Music Academy of the West Instrumentalists to Launch Global Academy Fellowship Program Next Month

Ten young instrumentalists from the Music Academy of the West are about to inaugurate the New York Philharmonic Global Academy Fellowship Program January 3-13, 2015, when they travel to New York City to train and play alongside New York Philharmonic musicians. All ten instrumentalists are from the prestigious Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, selected by audition to be the inaugural Zarin Mehta Fellows. At a time when there is more competition than ever to succeed in the music profession, these Fellows will be immersed in all aspects of an orchestral player's life, from audition to performance, learning invaluable career skills.

Marin Alsop Conducts Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Program of Bernstein and Beethoven Tonight

In a program that continues the 2014-2015 season theme of spirituality in music, Music Director Marin Alsop pays tribute to her mentor Leonard Bernstein. Maestra Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in a concert featuring the works of both Bernstein and Beethoven, tonight, November 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Saturday, November 22 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore.

Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Announces 31st Season, Running 7/30-8/24

This summer, the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival marks its 31st season in the beautiful seaside setting of Long Island's East End. The Island's longest-running classical music festival this year features 12 concerts from July 30 to August 24, featuring the signature mix of renowned and up-and-coming artists and classic and new music that has made it one of the most noteworthy summer music festivals in the country.

BSO to Perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, 6/5-8

Maestra Marin Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and John Adams' On the Transmigration of Souls on Thursday, June 5 at 8 p.m., Friday, June 6 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 8 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and on Saturday, June 7 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore.

Sasha Cooke to Perform with Greenwich Village Orchestra, 2/9

On Sunday, February 9 at 3:00pm, The Greenwich Village Orchestra, led by Metropolitan Opera conductor Pierre Vallet, will perform a concert to include excerpts form Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust, Ravel's Sheherazade with Grammy Award-wining mezzo-soprano Sasha Cook, and Brahms' Symphony No. 4. Now in its 27th season, the ensemble performs at Washington Irving Auditorium (40 Irving Place) near Union Square.
