TACT Announces Their 17th Anniversary Season Including THE COCKTAIL PARTY And More

The Actors Company Theatre/TACT (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Simon Jones, Co-Artistic Directors) has announced its 17th Anniversary season. The critically-acclaimed company dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit will offer fully staged productions of The Late Christopher Bean by Sidney Howard, and The Cocktail Party by T.S. Eliot at The Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street) on Theatre Row.

Prince And More To Honor Lansbury At Actors Company Theatre Gala On 5/11

Tony Award-winner Faith Prince, currently starring on Broadway as the evil Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid, has been added to the starry line-up for The Actor's Company Theatre (TACT) 'Sweet Sixteen' gala honoring legendary actress Angela Lansbury on Monday, May 11th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street). Ms. Prince will perform 'If He Walked Into My Life,' the eleven o'clock number from Jerry Herman's Broadway musical Mame. The celebratory evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. TACT company member Simon Jones (who stars with Ms. Lansbury in Blithe Spirit) will serve as master of ceremonies and introduce the evening's entertainment set to commence at 8:30 p.m.

Alan Ayckbourn's comic romp 'Bedroom Farce' hasn't been given a real New York revival since its seven month Broadway run came to an end in 1979. Who better to revive it than The Actors Theatre Company (TACT), who specialize in reviving underappreciated plays from days gone by?

'Bedroom Farce' Plays at TACT 10/5-11/5

River Rep to Close in CT

River Rep Theatre Company, the New York City-based professional Equity troupe that brought live, award-winning productions to the lower Connecticut River region for almost 20 years, will no longer be producing there.

TACT's 'Eccentricities' Sells Out At Clurman Theatre

The Eccentricities of a Nightingale by Tennessee Williams, directed by Jenn Thompson, Opened on May 5th to glowing reviews. The production is now officially sold out through the end of its limited run on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre.

TACT Hosts Post-Show Discussions For 'Eccentricities'

New Yorkers are getting a 'Southern Treat' as the work of famed playwright Tennessee Williams is available on various stages around the city. The most recent offering being The Actors Company Theatre's long-awaited production of Tennessee Williams' The Eccentricities of a Nightingale. In honor of this production TACT will host several post-show discussions exploring the life, love and work of Williams. These discussions will take place directly after the performances at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row on West 42nd Street and are free with a purchase of a ticket to the performance. The Eccentricities of a Nightingale is directed by Jenn Thompson and opens May 5th, 2008.
