The Alley Theatre's ALLEY ALL NEW FESTIVAL, January 28 - February 7, features six playwrights and more than 25 actors from around the country who will be presenting new work through a series of readings and workshop performances.
Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of "Scotland Road," a mystery/thriller involving a woman who may be a survivor of the Titanic, on Monday, February 8, at 7 p.m. Written by Jeffrey Hatcher, the play will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.
The Arvada Center will begin the New Year with Jeffrey Hatcher's hilarious one-act comedy Mrs. Mannerly directed by Edith Weiss. Mrs. Mannerly will run in the intimate Black Box Theatre January 26 - February 21, 2016. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Talkbacks will be offered Friday, February 5 after the 7:30 p.m. performance, and Wednesday, February 10 after the 1:00 p.m. performance. The Shakespeare Theatre Company presents a madcap night of life in the theatre with The Critic and The Real Inspector Hound, directed by STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn, and featuring an ensemble cast that takes on both shows. The Hangar Theatre is pleased to announce that Michael Barakiva has accepted the position of Interim Artistic Director. He will lead Hangar artistic programming through the summer of 2016. Michael is joining the Hangar staff immediately, and has already begun working with outgoing Artistic Director, Jen Waldman, to ensure a smooth transition. Michael returns to the Hangar after working with the organization as a Drama League Director in 2001 and as a director for Hangar School Tours in 2003.
