Yesterday, Bob Weir was horored as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) appointed legendary musician and founding member of the Grateful Dead and Dead & Company to help raise awareness and mobilize support for the UN agency's work to end poverty while fighting climate change.

Twenty-five years after THE SIMPSONS' “Homer at the Bat” episode originally aired, it is still a fan-favorite. The episode featured guest-voice appearances by nine superstar Major League Baseball players, including members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame – Wade Boggs, Ken Griffey, Jr. and Ozzie Smith – and Roger Clemens, Steve Sax, Jose Canseco, Don Mattingly, Darryl Strawberry and Mike Scioscia.

The musical CABARET, with music by Kansas City's own John Kander and lyrics by partner Fred Ebb, opens the 2016 summer season at Theatre in the Park on Friday night, June 3. The powerful musical about life in Berlin in the 1930s as the Nazi party begins its rise to power continues through Saturday, June 5, and again the following Wednesday, June 8 through Saturday, June 11. The box office opens at 6 p.m. and the gates to the seating bowl open at 6:30 p.m.; the show begins at 8:30 p.m.
