Wild Swan Theater is pleased to announce that we are the recipient of The 2017 State History Award for Education: Educational Programs from the Historical Society of Michigan for our production of Rosie the Riveter and associated educational materials. The 2017 State History Awards will be presented during its annual State History conference in Holland, Michigan, September 22-24, 2017. The Society presents the State History Awards every year to individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the appreciation, collection, preservation, and /or promotion of state and local history. The awards are the highest recognition presented by the Historical Society of Michigan, the state's official historical society and oldest cultural organization.
Wild Swan Theater Announces 2017-2018 Season

Wild Swan Theater Co-Artistic Directors Hilary Cohen and Sandy Ryder announce the company's 38th season of performances. Nationally regarded as one of the finest theaters for young people in the country, Wild Swan produces artistic, accessible and affordable theater for families. The upcoming season will feature classics including the Little Women, The Wizard of Oz, as well as a beautiful production of A Thousand Cranes, which is based on historical events.
The Purple Rose Theatre Raises $250K with Summer BBQ

The Purple Rose Theatre Company's (PRTC) 5th Annual Backyard BBQ raised nearly $250,000, double its previous record, to support the theatre's 26th season and its apprentice program. DTE Energy Foundation was the presenting sponsor.

The Purple Rose Theatre, Yankee Air Museum and Friends of the Chelsea District Library will honor America's Veterans with a concert reading by professional actors of The Purple Rose of the new play Willow Run by Jeff Duncan, playwright in residence at the Wild Swan Theatre in Ann Arbor. This free event is open to the public and will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19 at the Chelsea Village Conference Center, 1645 Commerce Park Drive, Chelsea.
New York Live Arts Sets Fresh Tracks 2014-15

New York Live Arts today announced the seven artists selected for the 2014-15 Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program. The 2014-15 Fresh Tracks artists are Same As Sister (S.A.S.)/Briana Brown-Tipley and Hilary Brown, Nico Brown, He Jin Jang, Niall Jones, Julie Mayo and Lindsay Reuter. These artists will present their works in the Fresh Tracks performance showcase, January 29 - 31, 2015, at 7:30pm.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino hosts "Rock 'n' Shave Benefitting St. Baldrick's Foundation featuring Sin City Sinners," a charity head-shaving event, in Vinyl from 1 - 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 2. The nonprofit funds the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers, giving survivors long and healthy lives.
