McArdle, Fuller, Leavel, Eikenberry and More to Sing UNSUNG STROUSE at 54 Below

Feinstein's/54 Below will proudly present an evening of songs by one of America's most celebrated composers, Charles Strouse, on Sunday, May 13th at 7:00pm. The one-night-only concert will salute the three-time Tony Award-winner with some of his best trunk songs, featuring material cut from some of his hit musicals, as well as songs that have never found their way to the stage. 

Len Cariou & Liz Robertson, Original Stars, Reunite in DANCE A LITTLE CLOSER Concert

Len Cariou and Liz Robertson, stars of the original Broadway production of Dance A Little Closer, the Charles Strouse and Alan Jay Lerner musical, have joined the cast of its previously announced concert adaptation, on Monday, April 16 at 7 pm at the Green Room 42. Presented in honor of composer Charles Strouse's 90th birthday by the Second Act Series, the stars will perform two songs they originated in the legendary, infamous and short-lived Broadway production. The abridged concert will also include never-before-heard songs cut during the show's workshop period.

National Museum of American History Receives Jean Stapleton Donations

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History recently received a donation from the family of actress Jean Stapleton (1923-2013) that showcases her career. The objects range from the apron she wore while playing Edith Bunker in All in the Family, a crew jacket from the set of All in the Family, a selection of the awards that she won throughout her career, costumes and props from her career in theater and TV, memorabilia related to her work as a women's rights activist and papers reflecting her dedication Eleanor Roosevelt's legacy.

Carnegie Mellon University Acquires William H. Putch Archives

A collection of materials from Carnegie Mellon University alumnus William H. Putch documenting his career as the artistic director of the Totem Pole Playhouse has been gifted to the Carnegie Mellon University Archives by his daughter, Pamela Putch, and son, John Putch.

New York Producer Rod Kaats Named Artistic Director at Ordway

The Ordway Center for Performing Arts announced today that producer and director Rod Kaats will assume the position of Producing Artistic Director beginning February 1, 2018. Mr. Kaats succeeds James A. Rocco, who stepped down from the Ordway last year.

Centenary Stage Company presents THE LEARNED LADIES

Centenary Stage Company's first professional theatrical production of the 2017 18 season, Freyda Thomas' hilarious adaptation of Moliere's pen-ultimate play The Learned Ladies features a variety of special offerings and events to accompany the production running October 6 through 22 in the Lackland Performing Arts Center. Totem Pole Playhouse Hands Out Annual Awards and Scholarships to Top High School Talent

Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania's premiere summer theatre, presented their annual Totem Pole Playhouse Awards last evening for outstanding production and performances by area high school students in a ceremony at Gettysburg College's Majestic Theater. The playhouse's fourth annual presentation was filled with the usual enthusiastic performances by the participating high school students, the surprise appearance of a four-time Emmy Award-winning TV star as a guest presenter, and $4,000.00 in new scholarship money.
