Boston Playwrights' Theatre to Present Three Original Plays for 2013-14 Season

Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) announced its 32nd season today, which will feature new work by three of its award-winning alumni playwrights. The line-up includes Burning by Ginger Lazarus, Windowmen by Steven Barkhimer, and Absence by Peter M. Floyd. All three writers are based in Boston.

Gallery New World Stages Presents Touring Art Exhibition from the Smithsonian and the Kennedy Center, Now thru 8/25

Gallery New World Stages, located at 343 West 49th Street, presents the summer opening of SUSTAINING / CREATING. This exhibition presents a national juried exhibition of works by 15 young emerging artists with disabilities. The show will be on view from today, July 2, 2013 through August 25, 2013, with an Opening Reception on July 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Curator Bernard Stote manages the group show.

KCACTF's 45th Annual Festival Kicks Off in D.C. Today

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts previously announced national awardees for outstanding work from the regional festivals that were held January 8 through March 3, 2013. Individual awardees and a representative from each of the outstanding productions will travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for an expenses-paid trip to participate in the 45th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), today, April 15-20, 2013.
