The world premiere of Tim Rice and Stuart Brayson's new stage musical From Here to Eternity begins previews at the Shaftesbury Theatre tonight, 30 September.

Brilliantly barmy, deliciously dark and ultimately harrowingly hard-hitting - that's how I would describe the current UK tour of Cabaret.

Northrop at the University of Minnesota announces single tickets go on-sale today, August 5 for its 2013-14 Northrop Season, which features world-class dance, including copresentations with The O'Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University's Women of Substance and Walker Art Center. Single tickets will be sold through each venue. Series packages continue to be on sale through Northrop.

The 2012 season at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre includes productions of RAGTIME and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. Playing in repertory from tonight, 18 May through 8 September 2012, Timothy Sheader directs RAGTIME, a contemporary musical based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow; Olivier Award nominated Javier De Frutos is choreographing.

From today, rehearsals are underway for the 2012 season at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, which includes productions of RAGTIME and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.

Matilda the Musical, produced by the RSC and running at the Cambridge Theatre, leads the way with ten nominations - the maximum number of eligible awards for a musical this year. These notably include a collective nomination for Best Actress for all four young actresses who play the title role. Amongst other musical theatre productions Ghost The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre and the National Theatre's London Road have five and four nominations respectively.

Timothy Sheader will direct and Liam Steel will co-direct Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods at New York's Delacorte Theater, Central Park, this Summer. This new Public Theater production will be based on the 2010 Olivier Award-winning Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production and will feature an entirely American cast.
