Kean University Presents THE ODYSSEY, 2/24

The Department of Theatre at Kean University will present The Odyssey in Kean University's Wilkins Theatre on February 24 through March 1. Adapted by Mary Zimmerman from the translation of The Odyssey by Robert Fitzgerald, the play is based on the ancient Greek poem by Homer. With both irreverent humor and epic drama, the Kean production depicts the journey of Odysseus, whose journey encounters him with such mythical characters as Circe, Poseidon, Zeus, Hermes and the Sirens.

Kimberly Senior to Helm Theater Wit's THE NORTH PLAN

Chicago director Kimberly Senior will helm yet another production on a Chicago storefront stage with the local premiere of Jason Wells' apocalyptic drama The North Plan, Feb. 23 through Mar. 31, 2012 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Avenue.

Theater Wit lands $5,000 grant from G. & D. Donnelley Foundation

The off-Loop company, set to kick off its second season in its new three-theater venue at 1229 W. Belmont Avenue, announced today it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Chicago-based Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation to support general operations.
