Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) announces Bucks County's own John Augustine to return (The Hummingbird's Tour, 2014, Director) to the Bucks County Playhouse stage as 'Larry' in Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY, running May 29-June 21. Augustine will play alongside Broadway's Candy Buckley (Scandalous, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret) as 'Joanne'.
If you're going to tell a story about a journey to hell and back then you need to have a reason. Some kind of moral or message or even just an engaging character that the audience can grab ahold of to root for success. Unfortunately the new musical “Jasper in Deadland”, currently at the 5th Avenue Theatre, offers none of those things. On top of that it fails to offer any kind of memorable or plot-moving songs leaving me to wonder who this show was written for since it obviously wasn't the audience.
The dynamic downtown theater company Naked Angels, under the leadership of new Artistic Director Liz Carlson, presents the World Premiere of SeaWife, a new folk concert play co-created by Seth Moore (The Man With America Skin) and indie-folk rock sextet The Lobbyists. SeaWife will play a limited engagement June 23 - July 19, 2015 at South Street Seaport Museum's Melville Gallery (213 Water Streeet) in New York's historic South Street Seaport district.
