Brooklyn's acclaimed Brave New World Repertory Theatre (BNW) presents George Bernard Shaw's Major Barbara, presented over four weeks - May 6, 7, 13, 22, 23, 29 and 30.

In Lifetime's new limited series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles (#LizzieBorden), Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award nominee Christina Ricci (Monster) reprises her role as the notorious murder suspect from the network's hit original movie Lizzie Borden Took An Ax. It premieres tonight, April 5, at 10pm ET/PT.

New Worlds Theatre Project (Ellen Perecman, Producing Artistic Director) has announced that it will present Peretz Hirshbein's Yiddish play, On the Other Side of the River, in a world premiere translation, beginning tonight, November 29 at 7pm at HERE, 145 Sixth Avenue. The opening night is set for Thursday, December 4. On the Other Side of the River runs through Sunday, December 21.

Ensemble theater company The Syndicate draws on classical training and nightly dance parties in Civility!, a story of dangerous, sexy, wild collisions inspired by Euripides's The Bacchae. The play follows a chorus of women caught between order and chaos.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) continues its 2014-2015 mainstage season with one of William Shakespeare's late masterpieces,The Tempest. STC Affiliated Artist Ethan McSweeny, following his imaginative production of A Midsummer Night's Dream two seasons ago, applies his flair for visual panache to The Tempest, in which sprites, goddesses and fools hold court. The Tempest will play at the Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from December 2, 2014-January 11, 2015.

Haven Theatre Company opens their 2014 - 2015 Season with the Chicago premiere of Catherine Trieschmann's Hot Georgia Sunday, directed by Marti Lyons, at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., November 22 - December 21.
