Shakespeare & Company presented The Two Gentlemen of Verona last night and Broadwayworld was at the opening.  Written by William Shakespeare, and directed by Co-Artistic Director Jonathan Croy, this early romantic comedy takes a gleeful look at the fickle nature of young love, playing in-the-round at the Tina Packer Playhouse throughSeptember 4, 2016.

Shakespeare & Company's THE MERCHANT OF VENICE Opens This Weekend

Shakespeare & Company will commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Bard during this 39th performance season with a newly configured theatre, and will debut its first production in-the-round with The Merchant of Venice, directed by Founder Tina Packer and featuring Jonathan Epstein as Shylock. This controversial and poignant play opens the Tina Packer Playhouse on July 1, and runs through August 21.

Casting, Dates Set for Shakespeare & Company's 2015 Season; Launches May 22

Shakespeare & Company has finalized casting for its 38th performance season, and released a complete schedule of Opening Night dates. The announcement was made this week by Interim Artistic Directors Ariel Bock and Jonathan Croy, along with a positive report from Interim Managing Director Stephen D. Ball on the Company's box office successes to date. Shakespeare & Company's season opens on May 22 with The How and The Why, by Sarah Treem.

Shakespeare & Company has announced the 2014 Conservatory production of Romeo & Juliet, directed by Company artists Tori Rhoades and Jason Asprey. The production marks this year's culmination of the Company's three-month professional actor residency, and runs for three shows only in the Tina Packer Playhouse. Performances are tonight, December 12 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday December 13 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Shakespeare & Company has announced the 2014 Conservatory production of Romeo & Juliet, directed by Company artists Tori Rhoades and Jason Asprey. Dennis Krausnick Plays Caesar for 14 Shows Only at Shakespeare & Company, 7/15-8/2

Shakespeare & Company's Dennis Krausnick, a founder and also Director of Training, steps into the title role of Julius Caesar for a brief run beginning July 15 through August 2. Nigel Gore, who has been playing Caesar since it opened several weeks ago, takes a short-term leave from the show after this weekend's performance on Sunday July 13-Gore will be back in the role Saturday, August 9. Krausnick was last seen on stage in the Playhouse in 2012's King Lear in the title role. See Krausnick's bio and photo links below.

With 7 actors playing multiple roles this poetry-filled psychological and political thriller follows the conspiracy and assassination of the omnipotent Roman leader, and the consequences that ensue from his brutal murder. Performances run in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre today, June 27 - August 30.Press Opening is Friday, July 4 at 8:00pm.

Shakespeare & Company's Summer Training Institute in Full Swing

For the second consecutive year actors from around the globe have joined Shakespeare & Company's Summer Training Institute through collaboration with Youth Bridge Global.
