Rehearsals are underway for Steppenwolf for Young Adults' (SYA) world premiere production of THE COMPASS devised and directed by Michael Rohd.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) has announced the complete cast for the world premiere of The Compass, a groundbreaking, interactive performance that explores the intersection of technology and decision-making. Devised and directed by Michael Rohd, this innovative production gives audience members the opportunity to determine the fate of those on stage.

 As the Midwest premiere of Leigh Fondakowski's SPILL continues its acclaimed run at Stage 773 through December 19, TimeLine Theatre Company announces the next highly anticipated production of its 19th season: The Chicago premiere of SUNSET BABY, a powerful and timely drama about family, survival and the nature of liberation.

Jackalope's 8th season kicks off with THE RAID, written by Idris Goodwin, directed by founding company member and associate artistic director Kaiser Ahmed*. The show runs tongiht, November 4 - December 12, 2015 at Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N. Broadway.

Due to popular demand, Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) extends the critically acclaimed production of George Orwell's 1984, adapted by Andrew White and directed by SYA Artistic and Educational Director Hallie Gordon. Hailed as "highly recommended…chilling, hard-hitting" (Chicago Sun-Times) and "a skillful blend of grimy proletariat despair and slick multimedia collage" (Chicago Tribune), 1984 adds three additional public performances, extending the run through November 21, 2015 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre with the original cast. Adapted by Andrew White and directed by SYA Artistic and Educational Director Hallie Gordon, Orwell's 1984 receives a cutting-edge, multi-media production with projection design by Joseph A. Burke and photography direction by Joel Moorman.

More than 350 of Chicago's most influential young professionals gathered at Venue One in the West Loop on Friday, April 10 for the 2015 Red or White Ball, the Steppenwolf Auxiliary Council's annual spring event. The celebration raised nearly $60,000 for Steppenwolf's nationally recognized arts education program, Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA), which annually impacts more than 15,000 students, teachers and families. You don't go into a show called The Annotated History of the American Muskrat without some very specific preconceptions. While you may have no idea what the piece is actually going to be about, you know it's probably safe to say that it isn't about to be your standard Tennessee Williams drama. The Circuit Theatre Company's production of this brand new show, written for them by Boston playwright John Kuntz, certainly fulfilled the preconceived notions that filled my head.

The Valentine Trilogy consists of three parts: Sal Valentino and the Melancholy Kid set in the wild, wild West, Curse of the Crying Heart in medieval Japan, and Valentine Victorious! in 1930s Boston. The stories all revolve around an epic hero, a masked vigilante with a heart of gold, and the tales of love, revenge, and good versus evil that he encounters. While it is possible to see these works individually, they act as prequels and sequels to the rest and work best when seen in their entirety.
