Theatrical charity, Acting For Others, today announces the fourth annual West End Bake Off will take place on Saturday 19th May. This year will be a rip roaring royal affair as casts from top West End shows swap their wigs for whisks and turn to baking the same day His Royal Highness, Prince Harry is set to marry Meghan Markle.

A Varied WhatsOnStage Awards Celebrate The West End's Breadth

The 18th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, held at the Prince of Wales Theatre, was a fast-paced ceremony with great performances and an enthusiastic crowd. The WhatsOnStage awards are unique because they are voted for by theatregoers online. While a few shows took home several awards each, no one show dominated enough to take the excitement away.

Mousetrap Theatre Projects Announces 21st Anniversary Gala

In celebration of Mousetrap Theatre Projects' (MTP) 21st anniversary, it is today announced Christopher Biggins and Harriet Thorpe will host the charity's Gala at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday, 18 March at 7.30pm. MTP is a theatre education charity dedicated to bringing the magic of theatre into the lives of disadvantaged young people and young people with special needs.

Casting Announced For World Premiere Of New Musical LOCK AND KEY At VAULT Festival

This March the world premiere of a brand new musical from Barlow & Smith starring Tiffany Graves (Chicago, Sweet Charity, West End) and Evelyn Hoskins (Carrie, Southwark Playhouse, Peter and the Starcatcher, Royal & Derngate, Mrs Henderson Presents) comes to VAULT Festival for a strictly limited run directed by Adam Lenson (Superhero, Songs for a New World).

London Playwrights' Workshop Launches Women's Musical Theatre Initiative

London Playwrights' Workshop is partnering with musical theatre writing team Barlow & Smith to create the Women's Musical Theatre Initiative (WMTI), a new development programme for female musical theatre writers. The WMTI will launch with a cabaret 'Celebrating Female Songwriters' at The Pheasantry on 12 February 2018. The evening will be hosted by songwriters Barlow & Smith and will bring together a group of accomplished female songwriters to showcase new writing and to raise funds to support the initiative.

Ridgefield Playhouse to Screen National Theatre's FOLLIES

Stephen Sondheim's legendary musical, Follies, staged for the first time at the National Theatre of London, will be shown in an encore broadcast in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, January 7th at 6:30pm as part of the Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings Live in HD & Classical Series with support from The Ridgefield Press and Whistle Stop Bakery. Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, the show is directed by Dominic Cooke (The Comedy of Errors).

Theatrical charity Acting for Others announces that over 150,000 has been raised at this year's One Night Only at The Ivy setting the record for the highest amount raised from this event. Stars of the stage and screen swapped their costumes for aprons and served diners across two sittings at The Ivy, world-renowned for their unfaltering impeccable service. Heading up the waiting staff this year to ply their trades in bartending, waiting tables, manning cloakrooms and welcoming guests were Noma Dumezweni, Arlene Phillips and Freddie Fox.

National Theatre of London FOLLIES to the Big Screen at The Ridgefield Playhouse, 1/7

Thirty years after their final performance, the Follies girls gather to have a few drinks, sing a few songs and lie about themselves. The Ridgefield Playhouse and Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings Live in HD & Classical Series presents an encore broadcast of National Theatre of London in HD: Follies on Sunday, January 7 at 6:30pm. This is the first time that National Theatre will be staging Stephen Sondheim's legendary musical. This beautiful production captures the glamour of the golden age of music halls and revues, with gorgeous showgirl costumes bedazzled with Swarovski crystals.

Nominations Announced For The 18th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards

At a ceremony held today at London's Caf de Paris, Aladdin's Trevor Dion Nicholas announced the nominees for the 18th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards. The announcement of the nominations marks the opening of the final voting stage which closes 31 January, with the winners announced at the annual Awards ceremony held on 25 February 2018 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Acting for Others Brings ONE NIGHT ONLY Back to The Ivy on 10 December

Theatrical charity Acting for Others today announces the return of One Night Only at The Ivy in West Street on Sunday 10 December 2017. Over 100,000 was raised last year for the charity, which is an umbrella organisation for 15 invaluable charities dedicated to supporting people from the theatre and dance communities who have fallen on hard times through injury, illness or circumstance.
