Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU just opened last night, September 28, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), after 32 previews. The production is directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winnerScott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. The writer, composer and stage director have all come to Michigan from L.A. to polish up the show and work with the Michigan cast on its Midwest premiere with performances tonight, September 26 through October 19. It was announced today that Tony Award-winner Carole Shelley will join the cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. She will be stepping into the role of Miss Shingle on October 28th. Jane Carr, who originated the role, will play her final performance on October 26th.

The 16th Annual Broadway Barks took place yesterday, July 12, in Shubert Alley. Founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, this star-studded dog and cat adoption event featured celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies.

Founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, the event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will take place on Saturday, July 12 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you can meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
