Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU just opened last night, September 28, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), after 32 previews. The production is directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winnerScott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. It was announced today that Tony Award-winner Carole Shelley will join the cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. She will be stepping into the role of Miss Shingle on October 28th. Jane Carr, who originated the role, will play her final performance on October 26th.

The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you can meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Darko Tresnjak won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER. This is Darko Tresnjak's first Tony nomination and his Broadway debut. He is the artistic director of Connecticut's Hartford Stage. He has directed at Theatre for a New Audience, The Public Theater, Old Globe, Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Royal Shakespeare Company Complete Works Festival, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Huntington Theatre Company, Goodspeed Musicals, Long Wharf Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, Vineyard Theater, and Los Angeles Opera.
A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder 's Robert L. Freedman has won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical. Freedman received the Fred Ebb and Kleban awards for the musicals A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and Campaign of the Century with Steven Lutvak, and was nominated for Emmy and Writers Guild awards for the television miniseries Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows.
