South Shore Conservatory has announced Nkeiru Okoye as the first composer-in-residence for its new SSC Transform initiative, which uses music education as a vehicle to promote social awareness and social justice. 

On Today, January 25, 2019, NapaShakes celebrates the birthday of Scotland's Bard: Robert Burns, and the music, food and culture of Scotland, with its first ever Burns Night Supper. Guests will savor the words of Scotland's greatest poet (and a bit of Shakespeare's Macbeth) accompanied by bagpipes and a lively Ceilidh band, plus engaging performances by two acclaimed actors from Britain and Broadway: Jane Carr and Victor Talmadge. The evening includes a delicious Napa Valley-style feast with traditional haggis (meat or vegetarian), neeps and tatties, and other delights in the candle-lit Gallery of St. Helena's Brasswood Napa Valley. The event is for age 21 and older, and attendees are welcome (but not required) to wear kilts and other traditional attire.

BritWeek has become a global forum that highlights British excellence and influence in theater, films television, music, fine art, and sport. This year's opening event is A Shakespeare Jubilee!, BritWeek's first co-presentation with The Wallis.Produced and directed by Louis Fantasia, and featuring a star-studded cast of 27 actors, A Shakespeare Jubilee! takes place Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis and tickets are now on sale.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents legendary Broadway and screen actress Carole Cook in "Back Where She Belongs: The Life and Times of Carol Cooke" - her New York cabaret debut - at the age of 94! - for two performances only - Tuesday, June 19 and Wednesday, June 20, 2018 @ 7pm.

Tickets are now on sale for South Shore Conservatory's (SSC) Festival Blues Brunch & JRP Festival on Sunday, September 24, with a variety of events and performances from 11 am to 6 pm, showcasing music throughout SSC's Hingham campus at One Conservatory Drive.

Entering its 30th anniversary year, Mark DeGarmo Dance is a not-for-profit that integrates three focal concerns: educate underserved New York City communities, especially children, through dance arts; create, perform and disseminate original dances, artistic and scholarly work; and build intercultural community. The organization's vision is to enliven bodies, shift perspectives and change lives. With programming that has been called 'a national model' by the National Endowment for the Arts, Mark DeGarmo Dance has maintained New York City Department of Education contracts for arts education services since 1987. MDD's artistic pillar in particular presents original artist-scholar works that reflect and celebrate the multicultural experience of our communities. Mark DeGarmo has created and produced over 100 dances and 28 international tours involving cultural diplomacy and exchange in 12 countries across Latin America and Europe. In 2015, DeGarmo received the Martha Hill Dance Fund's 15th Anniversary Mid-Career Award and the Sophie Gerson Healthy Youth Foundation's Recognition.

In the last twelve months, more than 300,000 people attended a live theatre production in or around Berkshire County. With 75 stage productions employing hundreds of professionals, making theatre is an important cog in the area's cultural economy. In fact, many consider the region a hot spot for Broadway bound shows, and a popular summer destination for theatre-goers from around the nation.
