Signature Theatre Opens REALLY REALLY, 1/31

An elite university. A not-to-be-missed party. A startling accusation. Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre presents the world premiere of Really Really by Paul Downs Colaizzo, one of the country's most promising new voices. Directed by Signature's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner, this contemporary drama pushes the edges and embraces the harsh realities of the "Me" generation. When the party of the year ends in the regret of a lifetime, one person will stop at nothing to salvage a future that is suddenly slipping away - and it is now every man for himself.

Emma Hunton, Josh Grisetti and Justin Johnston Join Cast of RENT

According to the show's Facebook page, Emma Hunton Josh Grisetti, and Justin Johnston will join the cast of off-Broadway's RENT on January 20. Johnston wrote on Twitter: 'That's right. I start Jan. 18 at New World Stages in NYC. Who knew... Roger'. Hunton added: 'So excited for rehearsal tomorrow. Make sure you all come down to New World Stages and come see Rent.' The trio will replace Annaleigh Ashford, Adam Chanler-Berat and Matt Shindledecker as Maureen, Mark and Roger.

Television actress Emily Swallow (Guthrie: A Midsummer Night's Dream; Television: 'Ringer,' 'Southland' and 'The Good Wife') will lead the cast of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in the iconic role of the troubled, lovelorn Margaret (Maggie the Cat). Swallow will be joined by Twin Cities actor Peter Christian Hansen (Guthrie: Dollhouse, Macbeth, After a Hundred Years) as the indifferent, alcoholic, favorite son Brick.

James Paulsen Receives 2011/2012 People’s Choice Award

The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) announced today that Minnesota artist James Paulsen is the recipient of the 2011/2012 People's Choice Award for his bronze sculpture, "Desert Mother."

Diavolo Dance Theater, the Los Angeles based internationally renowned dance company led by artistic director Jacques Heim, will have a residency with Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center as part of the 2011-2012 season, to create 'Transit Space,' a new work inspired by skateboard culture -- a sport and an art form invented in Southern California in the 1950s.

The new, off-Broadway production of RENT opened August 11 at New World Stages. The resurrection of the cult classic, written by Jonathan Larson, is being directed by Michael Greif, who directed the show's original off-Broadway and Broadway productions. The creative team includes choreographer Larry Keigwin, music supervisor Tim Weil, set designer Mark Wendland, costume designer Angela Wendt, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Brian Ronan, and projection designer by Peter Nigrini.
