Superman finds his Lois Lane! Joining Edward Watts (Superman) in the New York City Center Encores! production of It's a Bird…It's a Plane…It's Superman will be Jenny Powers as Lois Lane and David Pittu as the evil Dr. Sedgwick, along with Erich Bergen, Alli Mauzey, James Saito and Will Swenson. Superman will play at City Center for seven performances, March 20 - 24, and will be directed by John Rando with choreography by Joshua Bergasse and music direction by Rob Berman.
Deadline reports that two-time Tony award winner James Naughton has joined the cast of the upcoming CBS drama pilot HOSTAGES. The actor joins previously announced cast member Toni Collette on the project from Jerry Bruckheimer TV and Warner Bros TV.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY presents a special concert engagement of television and film star Tamara Tunie as part of the Fall 2012 Season. After she participated in a well-received concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center in May, performing the music of Cy Colman opposite such luminaries as James Naughton and Michele Lee, Tamara was inspired to return to singing. Tamara has been singing her entire life, including early appearances at Upstairs at Greenstreet and Steve McGraw's early in her career, before film and TV took over. After making it big in movies and TV and then bringing home a Tony Award as a producer for Spring Awakening on Broadway, many people forgot or never knew that her roots were in musical theatre. She is often asked, 'Do you sing?' She is answering that question with this evening of re -imagined show tunes and jazz standards entitled 'Yes, I Sing!' The show will feature Musical Direction by Mike Renzi, acclaimed for his work with Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Mel Torme, Blossom Dearie and more. Her engagement - which coincides with the release of her new film, Flight, opposite Denzel Washington - will be run for one week only, through November 3.

L&L's shows this season explore Shakespeare on Broadway, iconic singer/lyricist Peggy Lee, a fresh take on Jerome Kern, and our look at Vernon Duke's and W. S. Gilbert's influence on Broadway. On October 12, 2012, The New York Pops orchestra launched its 30th Season at Carnegie Hall with Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke - described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude" - led the orchestra in a highly-anticipated opening with Broadway favorites by beloved duo Rodgers and Hammerstein. The performance featured guest artists Aaron Lazar, Kelli O'Hara and Paulo Szot, along with Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA and New York Theatre Ballet. The program included classics from Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
