The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, announced today the nominees for its 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. By recognizing and honoring media for outstanding images of the LGBT community, the GLAAD Media Awards serve as a benchmark for the media industry and complement GLAAD's work to bring LGBT images and stories to Americans.

The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) proudly announces this year's festival dates, Thursday, October 13 - Monday, October 17, 2011. The festival, which is usually held over Columbus Day Weekend, is launching one week later in 2011 in order to honor Yom Kippur, which falls during Columbus Day Weekend this year. HIFF plans to return to its regular Columbus Day Weekend dates in 2012 (October 4 - 8, 2012) to celebrate its 20th Anniversary.

The awards were announced today from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the Boston Society of Film Critics and the New York Film Critics Online. Aaron Sorkin swept the prizes for best screenplay, and Natalie Portman, Jesse Eisenberg, Toy Story 3, Colin Firth and James Franco were amongst the other big winners of the day.

A distinguished list of entertainers joined in honoring Tony Award® and Emmy Award® winning actor Billy Crystal, Class of 1970, at the Tisch School of Arts' annual gala, The Face of Tisch including Christina Bianco '03, The Bob Cantwell New Orleans Jazz Band, Seán Curran '84, James Franco '11, Whoopi Goldberg, Marcia Gay Harden '88, Isaiah Johnson '10, Jesse L. Martin '91, Krysta Rodriguez '06, Paul Shaffer, Noah Weisberg '98, and Robin Williams. The event was held on Monday, December 6th at the renowned Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
