Described by CBC as a, "bawdy, bluesy, boozy rollicking night out at the theatre," the show follows the life, loves and career of blues and jazz singer Bessie Smith, called the "Empress of the Blues."

International award-winning actor and comedian Chris Tucker will perform at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, January 21 at 8 p.m. 

Throughout the 2016-17 season, the sound artist and master storyteller Nate DiMeo-whose popular podcast, The Memory Palace, a finalist for the 2016 Peabody Awards, paints vivid, poetic pictures of episodes in American history-will animate The Met by interrogating the collection to draw out the revealing secrets and stories of the art.

The 59th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival wrapped up Sunday, September 18 after a weekend of debut artists, returning masters and new favorites. Over 36,600 fans came through the gates of the Monterey County Fairgrounds during the weekend of September 16-18. The weekend featured a festival record-breaking 115 performances of diverse styles of music from around the globe, from tributes and piano trios; big bands to modern jazz, Cuban, blues and fusion groups, mixed with historic conversations, films, and exhibits.
