On this day in 2015, Jake Gyllenhaal and original 'Audrey', Ellen Greene took the stage at City Center in a concert production of the musical, Little Shop of Horrors.

Jenna Russell, Olivier Award-winning star of stage and TV, is known for her roles in Les Miserables, Sunday in the Park with George and, most recently, Fun Home at the Old Vic. She is now playing the role of Francesca in the upcoming UK premiere of Jason Robert Brown's The Bridges of Madison County at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

On Tuesday night's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, James becomes distracted dring his London edition of Dogs in Sunglasses. He starts to think of Jake Gyllenhaal, who had to cancel his appearance on the show. James starts to sing an an ode to the talented, kind and handsome actor, in the style of Whitney Houston's 'Greatest Love of All,' but then he's greeted by a surprise when Jake Gyllenhaal makes a special appearance.

Encores! Off-Center Artistic Director Anne Kauffman today announced casting for the production of Promenade (July 10 & 11) as part of New York City Center's 75th Anniversary Season.

As previously announced, Sea Wall / A Life, which recently played to sold-out audiences at The Public Theater, will open on Broadway this summer, but not without some changes. Written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne respectively, directed by Carrie Cracknell, and starring Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, who received a Drama League Award nomination for his performance in the show at The Public Theater, and Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge who received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for his performance in the show at The Public Theater, Sea Wall / A Life will begin performances on Friday, July 26 at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street), with the opening night set for Thursday, August 8.

Play+1 and Charging Moose Media announce Encounter Party!, an audio adventure governed by the rules of Dungeons & Dragons. Set inside the world of Ravnica from the popular game Magic: the Gathering, Encounter Party! takes five adventurers on an epic adventure filled with mystery, intrigue, puzzles, and of course, Encounters.

Pasadena Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Danny Feldman announces four main stage productions for 2019/2020 including new productions of favorite musicals -  Little Shop of Horrors with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, directed by Mike Donahue, and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun with book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, directed by Sarna Lapine - and  two plays - the Los Angeles premiere of Lauren Yee's The Great Leap directed by BD Wong, a co-production with East West Players, and Alfred Molina starring in the critically acclaimed West End and Broadway hit The Father by Florian Zeller and directed by Jessica Kubzansky. One more production and additional programming will be announced at a later date.
