Due to an overwhelming demand and two weeks of sold-out previews, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere of Paradise Square: A New Musical will extend for an additional week. Originally scheduled to close on February 17, the popular show will now run through Sunday, February 24.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. Last night, the Public Shakespeare Initiative hosted a special evening, Public Shakespeare Presents: To Imagine an Antony Shakespeare's Infinite Fancy. Oxford scholar and prize-winning author of The Genius of Shakespeare Jonathan Bate lead the audience on a thrilling exploration of the destabilizing, transformational power of poetry, imagination, and love, joined by John Douglas Thompson and Phylicia Rashad reading the title roles in scenes from Antony and Cleopatra. Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced today the complete cast of its 22nd production of Free Shakespeare on the Common, William Shakespeare's immortal drama Romeo & Juliet, directed by Allegra Libonati. Performances are free of charge, and will take place on the Boston Common, near the Parkman Bandstand.

The Shakespeare Society will hold its annual Playing Shakespeare Celebration - a festive cocktail party, fundraiser and awards ceremony on May 23, from 6 - 8 pm, at The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South.

Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will continue with Cyril Tourneur's The Atheist's Tragedy, directed by Ben Prusiner, with live music by Alexander Sovronsky. For the second production in Theatre for a New Audience's inaugural season at its first permanent home, the new Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place in Brooklyn, Mr. Pennington leads a company of 22 actors.
